I spotted 3466 on the 23 on Saturday, a Midvale Neo on the Midvale share of the 23(3110 block) on Saturday? This was indeed either a rookie or an operator who cannot stand the current fleet. 3466 is the remaining operational Neo at Midvale & it didn't sound too good either. I spotted a NABI on the 37 this morning eastbound @ 64th & Lindbergh Boulevard. |

7101 is stalking me on the 33 today. First I saw it at Logan Circle heading south. I was taking a pic of another artic sitting on the side of the circle near the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral when I heard it come rolling around the circle. I turn my head to the right and there is 7101 resplendent with its orange LED destination signs coming straight towards 19th Street. And now just about 20 minutes ago, I saw it again while me any my girlfriend were heading to the library. We spotted it at 19th and Arch and I took some more pics of it. |

Bizarre sighting of the century: I spotted 5643 - a Midvale New Flyer - on the Route 6 (block #389) at Olney Terminal today ... and this came about two minutes after back-to-back nearly-empty artics (7137 and 7175) appeared on the line! |

The 6 was assigned to Luzerne depot under PRT/PTC & it remained as a streetcar line from Willow Grove to Olney Avenue until June 8,1958. Under PTC/SEPTA, the 6 continued to oeprate between Cheltenham Avenue & Olney Avenue (via Ogontz Avenue) until Sunday January 12, 1986. PCC 2113 was the car to do the final revenue service run on the 6, northbound leaving Olney Avenue @ 2:13am. Within an hour from that, buses ran on the 6 from Luzerne(the line & overhead along Ogontz Avenue remained intact until 1989). When SEPTA came up with a plan to do Broad & Olney Avenue terminal over in the summer of 1987, there wasn't any mention of keeping the 6 as a streetcar line. When the terminal was complete by the October of 1989, SEPTA tore down the overhead along the cit yportion of route 6. In 1992, The City of Philadelphia(or maybe SEPTA) paved over Ogontz Avenue. Route 6, along with any other line assigned to Luzerne, was moved to Midvale in 1997. Neos domianted the 6 until the NABIs came, then it was a mix of buses. The 6 went to Allegheny on Sunday June 18,2000. For that whole summer, there weren't any programmable signs in the then new CARD/GPS system for route 6. |

Whenever a problem occurs with a bus assigned to Allegheny depot running on route 6, the supervisor at Olney Avenue or Cheltenham Avenue may pull a Midvale bus from a Midvale route(and yes, maybe even an artic)to cover a few trips on route 6 until a mechanic from Allegheny can come to the problem site to get the vehicle rolling again(or get it back to the garage), or if they can get a spare bus from Allegheny for the line. This isn't unusual at all. I've lived in the West Oak Lane area for my entire life(24 years) & I know that all people on the 6 want is a bus with heat/air & seats. None of that suburban Eldorado trash please. |

I think that your info is a litlle wrong here. The 6's rails were still there in portions until about 2003 when the entire length of the line was completely repaved and bike lanes and turn lanes were added on Ogontz Avenue[/font] |

Besides the immediate area around the Cheltenham and Ogontz loop (including inside the loop itself), and an occasional rail poking out of the worn-out asphalt along Ogontz Avenue before the 2003 repaving, were there any other portions of route 6's tracks that were still exposed? |
