They're chopping up the two once-sealed stairways on the southbound platform at North Philly. There isn't much of them left...there's also an orange barricade running along the platform. |

Rode 5863 on the 104 today. Rode a cold 1104 on the EL. Rode back in a freshly washed Allison (did not get the number). A Frankford operator said don't hold your breath waiting for the new Trackless Coaches. Like maybe 2008?? A retired operator of SEPTA told me that model is having power steering problems in Vancouver. So that will hold up our SEPTA order, I guess. Chuck Greene |

<Thats bad? The neoplan's get to stay longer!> I like that, too. I love the musical sound they make in first & second gear. My fear is that our Neo's will eventually bite the dust, though. Chuck Greene |

Not bad joe chopchop, but does anyone think that they will use 3 digit numbers again? How was it 800 to 909 if the budd cars were at these numbers? Also some pretty cool numbers as well... 920-up 1300 4300 6700 |

Myself personally, I think they will use 3 digit numbers again as that is exactly what SEPTA is doing with its upcoming Silverliner V order. |

As for the Frankford tracklesses, gone are the day when you could wait @ Castor & Longshore Avenues(Solly @ Frankford, or 3rd & Wyoming), waiting for an AMG trackless(like 854 or 871) on an inbound run on the 59 (66 or 75)only to have it substituted by a 1983 Neo BD transit(like 8476). Now that would have been a bustitution I would have taken to the chin, knowing it was temporary, and knowing that I was getting reimbursed with a long but not forgotten trademark Neoplan bus for the absence of a trolley coach. |
