As for the Frankford tracklesses, gone are the day when you could wait @ Castor & Longshore Avenues(Solly @ Frankford, or 3rd & Wyoming), waiting for an AMG trackless(like 854 or 871) on an inbound run on the 59 (66 or 75)only to have it substituted by a 1983 Neo BD transit(like 8476). Now that would have been a bustitution I would have taken to the chin, knowing it was temporary, and knowing that I was getting reimbursed with a long but not forgotten trademark Neoplan bus for the absence of a trolley coach.

Now, when the TTs come in, you can be assured that if your TT line is bustituted, you'll be able to ride a diesel New Flyer! New Flyers, guaranteed, would be the motto I guess...

Trolley fires on Route 15. I found out from my operator friend, Roro, that she had a trolley fire at 26th Street last Thursday, A truck driver that was behind her stopped to tell her the top of her trolley was on fire. She rushed to the back to disconnect the pole and slipped and sprained her shoulder.

Another trolley was on fire at 2nd street.

Not a good day for SEPTA and the PCC-II trolleys. It's one thing after another.

I spoke to Roro on the phone last night. She is back to work.
Thanks for your concern.

Sorry to off topic with this. Roro has a badly bruised /strained shoulder and will get an MRI to see what is going on. She is not back to work, my error!

Rode 5440 on the 42/9128 block today. Had not 1 but 2 wheelchairs. One with a three wheel scooter got on at the VA (those things are tough to back onto the bus with the wheelwells) and the other got on at 33rd and Spruce. I guess 5440 being at Midvale would explain why I saw 5228 not too long ago on the 65 and then the 31.
