Do any of you think it would be beneficial for SEPTA to re route the 52 to lay over @ City & Cardinal Avenues then loop around the Overbrook Station via Cardinal south, Overbrook west, 59th south, Drexel west, City Avenue east?

Cardinal Avenue south of City Line Avenue includes one block long enough to hold 4 buses while laying over. Much more space at that.

Well I don’t think the people living on those sections would like the fact that the 52 goes down that way 24/7. Unlike the G which runs on there like 21 hours per day. Plus the parking in that area is crazy strictly due to the college students. If you ever look at the street you can see it is filled. So it’s not really a bad idea at all but I am carious to know what the residents would say about that which is already contending with the G already.

To alleviate this issue, SEPTA should consider the following:

On weekdays from 6am to 10pm, the 52 should offer regular service to 49th & Parkside Avenue loop. If say 8 trips run per hour on the 52, then let SEPTA adjust the weekday schedule so that it may reflect 5 trips going up to City Line & 3 going up to Parkside.

On Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays, provide service up to City Line Avenue every 15 minutes & 49th & Parkside every 15 minutes from 10am to 7pm.

In short, every 1,3,5(maybe 7th) bus along the 52 in an hourly timeframe run to City Line Avenue looping around Overbrook Station laying over along Cardinal Avenue & every 2,4 & 6 th bus going up to Parkside Loop.

This is a suggestion that would reduce congestion in terms of bus layover.

Nothing would loop around Overbrook Station after 12am(12am through 6am nightly).

I think that the G should be extended & re routed to 63rd & Malvern Avenue loop.
63rd & Malvern Avenue loop certainly has the space for such.

Not only that, the G should be split between Southern and Callowhill, the way it used to be.

They should take the 65 away from Allegheny and give it all to Callowhill. Septa should also take the MFO away from Comly.

Or even better, Let Midvale get all of the Broad Street Nite Owl(or split it up with Allegheny and Comly).

COMLY?!?!?!?!?!?!? Are you KIDDING? Dou you realize how long the deadheads from there to Broad Street would be? I just don't see it happening.

A more reasonable idea would be to split the 52 between Allegheny and Callowhill, which will result in decreased headways

Also split down the 27 as well in the process! -_-

the deadheads I know will be insane, however, the cost of the fewer headways will cover that and then some. Of course in terms of aesthetics, it would be completely ludicrous.

Let me see... um... HELL NO!!! The last thing I need to put with on my commute is slow ass Artics on the BSO full time!

Last Friday 7205 covered a trip or two on the BSO. I guess on Fridays and Saturdays it's feasible to run an artic due to the kids getting out of the clubs.

As far as I know, Comly covers MFO only on Weekends also. During the Weekday, There are 4-5 Frankford runs (2781 - 2785 block) and 4-5 Callowhill runs (9901 - 9905 Block). New Flyers on the Callowhil Portion, and NABI's on the Frankford side except for one block that gets a New Flyer, I cant remember the number though.

Southern BSO Blocks are 77XX and Midvales start from 3550 - 3555. Those runs become Rt. C trips.

2784 is a MFO run that turns into a route 88 trip. I think this trip originates from Welsh & Darlington Roads @ 6:08am.

Midvale New Flyers aren't bad. Keep in mind that a majority of the Midvale runs on the BSO use New Flyers to begin with. Whether it be 5685, 5725 or 5945, New Flyers cover a great deal of the work. It isn't often that you will get a NABI on any Midvale share of the BSO. 3554 block during the week becomes a 57 trip from Fern Rock. 3558 block during the week becomes a 47 trip from Godfrey Avenue.

I think that 3556 block becomes a block on the 57 on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. 3556, 3557 & 3561 blocks during the week without a doubt become route C runs(3556,3561, Cheltenham/Ogontz, 3557, 11th & Nedro).

I hope Midvale gets the whole route, as well as more of the23, 47 & 57(several runs on the 47 that are currently covered by Southern jobs were once Midvale jobs). If not Midvale, Allegheny definitely should absorb the runs covered by Southern trips.

When Germantown served as an operating depot, they had some runs to cover BOTH the MFL & BSO.
