Yeup, that would be Boston. I remember back in 2004 several of our 5800 Hybrids plus the GM demo were in Boston for the Democratic National Convention. They were sent to Boston while enroute to Philadelphia. This wasn't the first time SEPTA has helped out in loaning another city buses. In 1996, several SEPTA American Ikarus buses were used in Atlanta during the summer Olympics. The buses were coming from the plant in Alabama so naturally it was a good idea to use them down there. SEPTA also loaned a Fishbowl to Pittsburgh in the late 1970s to help with their bus shortage. I saw a picture of this on a Pittsburgh bus driver's website. I believe it was 4316. The bus retained its large SEPTA stripe with PAT logos slapped on. |
