Can you say "extortion"?

A $2.50 base fare and the possibility of eliminating transfers?

The elimination of the 304, 305 and night owl service on several city routes and the 108 and 109?

Operating a "modified" Sunday schedule on Saturdays, in effect eliminating Saturday service on several routes including the 92?

I would hope that SEPTA decides to take the optimistic approach and choose the less draconian plan, but I am starting to have my doubts.

Yeah, and I couldn't imagine SEPTA trying to run 30 minute headways on the 52 on Saturday mornings from 6am to 9:30am, which is what they do with the 52 on Sundays & holidays. I've ridden the 52 on Sunday mornings many times before 9am south of Market along 52nd & it is no laughing matter.

If they get rid of routes like the 304 & all of that stuff, oh well.

But they've got another thing coming if they even dare thinking of toying with the infamous Midvale C along Broad Street in North Philadelphia.

30 miunte headways on the line all day Sunday & holidays can be very disturbing, considering that many churches along the line let out between 12 & 3pm on Sundays, people(such as myself) who absolutely refuse to ride the subway, people traveling up to & middle to see relatives & lastly, the children of the community who have nothing else to do.

Now shift those Sunday headways over to Saturdays.

A lose lose situation.

Much of the Midvale & Frankford (R,1,3,5 routes only) network through North Philadelphia would ultimately suffer should the proposed service cuts take place.

That is a no no. SEPTA needs to do something. And fast.

I have a suggestion, it maybe a controversial suggestion, and it will probably break Federal law, but SEPTA should DUMP PARATRANSIT[CCT].

CCT usually eats about 25% of the budget, and a cheaper alternative should be considered like cab vouchers, with disabled passengers who may not have as severe disabilities using the regular transit system

Yes this will pit the disabled vs. us able-bodied, and break the ADA law, and create a messy and massive civil-rights lawsuit, but this must be done immediately to save the system for everybody else.
