WE ARE CURRENTLY OPERATING ABOUT 100 (130 MORE TO ARRIVE) OF THE E4OLF'S. THESE ETB'S DON'T HAVE TRADITIONAL SPRING LOADED RETRIEVERS... DON'T WORRY FOLKS,THERE ARE ROPES, AND A NEW TYPE OF RETRIEVER ON THE COACH. INSTEAD OF RESETTING THEM BY YANKING THE ROPE UNTIL THE SPRING RESETS, ONE SIMPLY PUSHES A "RESET" BUTTON BELOW THE DESIRED TROLLEY POLE. THE RETRIEVERS ARE INTERNAL, WITH A SMALL HOLE FOR THE ROPE. ALSO, WHEN DE-WIRING OCCOURS, THE POLES AUTOMATICALLY COME DOWN TO WITHIN 12'' OF THE ROOF. I HOPE THAT MIGHT CLEAR A FEW MISCONCEPTIONS UP. |

It turns out the New Trackless is in South Philly today and will be at Frankford tomorrow. Faye Moore and the gang will be there. The shop is going to have it for three weeks so don't expect it to be on the street anytime soon. Also, they may not park it outside tomorrow, it may be in a shop bay, so only limited viewing will be permitted. The apparently unloaded it off of a CSX train and will put it on a flatbed trailer to transport it to Frankford. Stay tuned.... Chuck Greene |

I think it would be a great idea if SEPTA could order about 12 E60LFR's for the 66. My personal opinion. But good that the first pilot ETB is on SEPTA property, now they can retire my beloved Neoplans. |
