I missed the new unit , #800. It arrived at 2:30 or so. I was long gone by then.
Daryl Jackson reports it has a back window with route number. That's pretty neat.

Here's a good shot of the new Trolley!

It seems that they are re-using the AMG numbers.

Why is the number on two sides on the front of the bus? Pointless.

I saw 800 (the back end) in Bay 6 at Frankford today. I was told by a driver that just before I got here they were testing it (driving it)around Frankford terminal on diesel power (the auxiliary unit). Also, in few days they will testing it on the three trackless lines, and will start training drivers very soon.

The coach looks really neat from the back. The back window is huge.

That's has been standard procedure on SEPTA buses since the NABI's first arrived in 1997. When the new scheme was applied to the older Neoplans [and some of the AMG's] it carried over to some [but not all] of the repainted buses.

The fleet number on both sides of the front of the buses have been applied to all buses bought [and rehabbed] since the NABI's [EXCEPT the Cutaways!].

I took a ride on the 8 EXP from Olney just to check this baby out. Still in bay 6 :(

I saw the trackless driving down castor ave this afternoon. It was not in service, and had a placard that said something about driver training.

Thanks for the report on seeing the trackless on Castor Ave. Yes , they are testing it out and training drivers.

Maybe I'll get to see it in action someday.

It was reported to me that last Thursday, there was an accident involving our #800. I don't have the details of the crash, or pictures, but the front bumper was damaged and the next day (Friday) a new one was installed and the coach is running again.
