Well gang, this is good one. The trolley tracks (as of 9 AM) have sunk below the railroad tracks and Route 11 cannot go to or come from Darby. So the 11 is gong as far south as Island Rd. and using Elmwood Depot as a turn around. Shuttle buses are running from Island road to and from Darby as we speak. In addition, Route 13 , Chester ave. is turning at Yeadon ,as normal, but pull-ins and pull-outs cannot use Darby. They are using either 49th st. or 58th Street for depot moves. The estimated repair time on the sunken crossing is unknown at this time. Also we just heard Route 10 is running to 40th & Market. not using the subway. Something about police activity at Spring Garden & Lancaster Aves. Another fun day on SEPTA. Chuck Greene |

That crossing has been going south for a while. I heard that was something CSX had to address, and they were dragging their feet. (cannot vouch for how true that is, but that is what was going around) |

Repairs to the CSX crossing should be completed this Friday (tomorrow). Lets keep our fingers crossed. |

The problem is there is a small stream under the crossing. The moisture factored with auto, train & trolley weight sinks it at least once a year it closes. I am regular & have no choice but either 11, 13, 36 for now but this is a royal pain especially for Rt. 13 pullins & pullouts. |

And of course, CSX is too cheap to do a proper fix; they just do the Band-aid approach every year. Imagine back in the 50's when the B&O main through there was still double-tracked. We had a double-diamond there... |
