800 was not in Bay 6 today, so it must be out for testing and driver training. I was at Frankford around 10:30 to look for it. I am very ,very excited about this new trackless coach. I rode 5276 (purple seats) on the 104 going into 69th street. I rode 5311 (normal blue seats) on the 104 going back home to West Chester. Chuck Greene |

Rode 5512 and 5805 on the K, 5180 and 5214 on the 32. 5180 has purple seats instead of blue seats. |

Around 10:50 today I saw 5055 (Callowhill) heading eastbound on West Chester Pike at Darby Road. It was in the right lane with the sign reading SEPTA / Not In Service. I managed to look to see who was driving it while I was driving my own car and it appeared to be a mechanic since he was wearing a dark blue shirt (Callowhill bus drivers wear the light blue oxford uniform shirts). There was one other person on the bus. The block number was (9)175, which is a PM 30 block. Anyone have any idea as to what this bus was doing that far out in Delco? |

I spotted 7246 on the 6 today. As for 5055, keep 5055 at home with me at Callowhill. If Red Arrow wants buses from the City Transit Division, let them get the junk that comes out of Southern. |

I have an idea as to why SEPTA shuffled some of Midvale's artics to Allegheny. The 9 isn't heavily used during the summer months. From the first 3 trips leaving Andorra leading into the morning peak periods, you have a steady stream of ridership counts. Then the ridership counts thin out until the pm peak periods, where a majority of these riders take the 9 home. However, during the summer months, artics would most likely be seen on the 9 during the am/pm peak periods alone. During the evening hours and all day Saturday and Sunday, don't hold your breath. Regretfully, I spotted 4568 on the 23 last Friday heading into South Philadelphia, at about 5:45pmish. 5133 has since returned to Comly. Last Friday, I spotted 5133 on the 84. 5656 has been moved to Midvale. I think 5656 has been retrofitted with the new engine. Everyone, look for 5656 to confirm this. I spotted 5656 on the H on Thursday.

5656 has been retrofitted with the ISL, and it is at Midvale - it has been there for a few weeks now, actually. For updated information on the fleet overhauls, please keep checking this webpage: http://www.philadelphiatransitvehicles.cjb.net/overhaul.php |
