How would you intend on pulling that off on a double tracked line with capacity problems?

Expand from 2 to 4 tracks(ok you can't do that in all places, but in others).

Where would the other 2 tracks be? There isn't enough room for them on the Market-Frankford Line.

Anyways, I'd like to see the 26 have additional weeknight and Saturday evening trips to FTC. I'd also like to see the 66 have its AM express service restored. Considering how much shopping there is in the general area, the 59 loop @ Bleigh/Elgin should be utilized more often than just for emergencies & training. In addition, the 8 should have normal weekday service as well as Saturday service.

EDIT (6/29): I'd also like to see artics on the 26's FTC runs.

The EL portion can be expanded.
WHERE????????

PRT and the City had a hard enough time installing 2. Enlighten us on where you would widen the MFSE?

From 46th street station to 69th street terminal the stations and high rise bridges are too close to the house and why would they widen the bridge when they just did RECONSTRUCTION TO IT.

Its the same problem on the other end of the line.

1) Where are you going to move I95?
2) What are going to do with the people and businesses along Front Street?
3) The Lehigh Ave Span.
4) Are you willing to piss off Amtrak to shut down two tracks of the NEC over one of their most important interlockings?
5) Where are you going to do with the people and businesses along FRANKFORD AVENUE????
6) You want to rebuild Frankford Terminal for the second time in a decade?

Answer those questions.

Is there a possibility of adding an additional set of tracks ABOVE the current alignment?

I honestly don't think the ridership is there for that. However, if you do want express service on the MFSE, you'll have to cut the headways down to about 8-10 minutes and STRICT speed adherence.....no slow pokes.

Then with trains can move with relatively clear rail ahead without riding yellows most of the way.

EX:
AM Rush EXP STOPS
EASTBOUND
69th
60th
52nd
40th
30th
15th
Then All stops to Frankford

WESTBOUND
Frankford
Margaret-Orthodox
Erie-Torresdale
Allegheny
Girard
Spring Garden
Then all Stops EXCEPT 63rd and Millbourne to 69th

PM Rush in reverse
