Happy Friday,

I just wanted to share my opinion re:Convenience Pass which is the reeplacement for the soon-to-be discontinued DayPass. This is the 2nd time I used this pass since it's inception. Thanks to the powers that be at SEPTA, they conjured up in there minds that the average passenger will only take upto 8 trips in a given day which for me at times is not true esp since everytime you board a different vehicle the operators are "supposed" to validate (ie puinch a hole) the pass.

Well let me tell you, when i purchased my pass at 1234 Market and initially used it at 13th street to run an errand the cashier didn't know how to properly validate the pass so he handed it back to me w/o validating the pass. Since going on my errands I boarded 3 different vehicles and the pass was only validated once. But tell me this how is this pass convenient when SEPTA's own frontline staff haven't a clue how to properly validate the farecard. Major disconnect if you ask me btwn management and the aforementioned frontline staff; Shoot, what else is new about that.

Also on the back of the pass there's a magenetic stripe that I thought you could swipe but was told you cannot do that. Well, why the heck is it there in the 1st place. And no i haven't tried swiping to see what happens. I say all this to say how convenient is this pass if you have to have the pass validated by SEPTA's clueless staff which slows down boarding a vehicle. I personally felt the old daypass offers more convenience than the actual convenience pass was intended.

That's my 50 cents worth.

Cheers,

~LRC~
