Midvale has some deadheads that make little sense to me.

How and why does Midvale send several of their C,2,23,47 & 57 trips to start their runs in South Philadelphia? That seems like a waste of fuel and wear.

Route 23, block 3104, during the week, last trip ends at 10th & Bigler Streets. Deadheads from South Philadelphia to Midvale.

I think that on Sundays, Route C, 3813 block, starts @ 15th & Market @ 5:09pm en route to "the top".

Most Deadheads from Midavle to south philly usually uses the expressways to get there which means it will only take between 10 - 20 minutes depending on the route and traffic on da expressway. The ones that start in south philly usually ends somewhere close to midvale at night.

My primary run home, Southern 7215 (7, 68E, BSO) is a 10.5 hour run that caps off running from UPS Phila Air Hub to Fern Rock, to turn around and deadhead BACK to Southern. When I go to the Roadeo in two weeks, best believe I'm getting into someone's ear to make that TRIP a Midvale Articulated.

(This will be my third peak season at UPS. If the past two years was any indication, I'm in for some really early starts and very late mornings (I work overnight, sue me!))

When some bus routes are on their last trip for the day, do some of them turn into another route?

Depends on what route and district.

EX: most 114 and 305 trippers that originate from Darby are 113 short turns.

H/XH(3290/3921 blocks) turn into 1/2 route 57 runs(starting at 10th & Nedro, en route to either Whitman Plaza or 4th & Oregon Avenue), NO RETURN TRIP. From there, they pull in to Midvale.

H/XH block 3253 turns into a route L run. I think H/XH, 3255 block turns into a run on the L as well. 3314 block on the 47 turns into a route 18 run(this block on the 18 never sees artics).
