The previous thread has elapses into 25 pages, you can still view this thread in our new archive board. Since this board is opened for guests to posts, the spam bots has the tendency to go to some of our older threads and post spam links to various different sites. So to keep things simple, I've decided to lock off most of the older threads and put them in the archive section (http://philadelphiatransitforums.cjb.net/index.php?showforum=35 )

I guess I may be the first to post. I rode 7254 and 7230 on the 18, 7205 on the 22, 7245 on the 55. Spotted 7224, 7240, 7232, 7235, 7208 and many other Neoplan AN-460's on the 18. I later spotted 7232 pull into the route L stand at Olney Terminal. Same for 7205 at Cedarbrook Plaza. I spotted 5683 heading north on Broad Street towards Ognotz loop with the Cummins engine.

I rode the 59 today with my friend. Parked in front of us on Oxford Ave. was bus 5796.
Frankford's # 1 in seniority operator(a 35 year veteran) had the honors of working it (Block 2104) on Rte. 75 today.

We quickly found out ( it was a little after 11:00 AM) that a mishap occurred eastbound at Wyoming Circle around 11:05. A fairly new model black colored car came to rest against the left side of the bus. When the bus operator confronted the auto driver about the accident, the guy just reached into his car and pulled out something that was red colored and threw it at the the rearward driver's bus window. The driver then sped off. We are betting he didn't have a license or insurance, that's common anymore. The bus window shattered but stayed intact. The miracle of a safety glass.

They have witnesses and a partial license plate number, but I don't expect them to catch this guy. Oh well.

I salute & respect every Frankford district operator. They're the knowledgeable & dignified ones in the SEPTA City Transit Division.

I honestly thought that there were some operators at Frankford that had at least 40 years & they were still working the depot.

Over there, the operators "at the top" mainly work the 19 & 88. Not so much the 67 anymore. At Franklin Mills Mall, things can become rather complicated.

Correction to my post. The operator is a 38 year veteran. My bad.
That's close to the 40 years you are talking about, CA Crafter.

Does the #1's wear the old fashion driver's cap? Why I asked is because there's a driver at Callowhill that wears a drivers cap.

A #1 in senority working on a Saturday?? He must have been working OT or something3 Very rare to see high seniority operator to be working anything other than a straight M-F run.

IF I were a SEPTA driver, I'd most likely work 4 days during the regular week, and a Saturday.

I'd imagine a Saturday morning run is a lot nicer then a Friday morning run.
