Rode 5324 on the 104 from West Chester- no A/C , very hot bus.

Rode 3395 on the 75 (2002 block). No A/C and bad center doors. Also , two bent black , flexible ad card holders were behind the rear view mirror to keep it steady. My friend told me you had to be inventive with these Neo's. Since they will be scrapped next spring, hardly anything will be done to them except the changeover to heat. So they slowly fall apart, day by day.

Rode 5480 on the way home on the 104, good A/C.

The A/C is working on the El, too.

Hmm...that's odd...

Is there some sort of center door syndrome? 3490 had the same problem on Friday, and another one did one time before - 3418 if I'm not mistaken. In 3490's case, I think it was that the back doors would open, but wouldn't close unless the bus is shut down (it's a default think I learned when I rode a Neo on the 23). I got a recording of it starting up - too bad an ignorant fool had to go off cussing about the old piece of whatever breaking down and whatnot...fighting words, lol! I might upload it, but please beware of the somewhat strong language.

BTW, 3490 looked horrible. Up front the mechanics' favorite tool, lime green duct tape, was used quite a bit to hold up that destination sign panel (above the window). The AC cover had a slight crack in it too.

Speaking of 3395, it seems like SEPTA didn't mean what they said when they stated that buses would be repainted every 9 months. This neo has had that rip in the paint scheme ever since its frontier days...over three years ago!

Fortunately, by great contrast, 3397 was in great condition! It was a nice, comfty-cozie ride on none other than the 73. Can't believe it? I think it's a regular run on that route.

I'm disappointed that they aren't running Neos on the PM 8 trips. I wonder if a Neo could have better held a run than the New Flyer I rode on that route on Friday, which was packed up to the front door...

The Neos promblem is the doors it seems not the engine but i guess that you cant blame it from breaking down they where made in 1989 and in service for 19 years

5436 broke down on the 65 at 63rd and Malvern sometime around noon. It was still sitting there at 2:15 with the back cover up. Two hours and Callowhill is only around the corner.

Rode 5593 on the 104 from West Chester. Did really well on time until we got a wheelchair.

Rode a Nabi on the 15 Block 009. Forgot to get the bus number.

Rode 7150 on the 65, it kept good time for a Neo-Artic.

Rode 5318 home from 69th Street to West Chester. It did well for a Nabi.

5026 also broke down on the 65. I spotted 5026 @ Germantown & Chelten Avenues this afternoon. 5026 had the hood cover up.

I spotted 2 8000s on the 47, back to back, to South Philadelphia. 8010(7910 block) & 8054(7911 block).

Lastly, I spotted a Hybrid on Stenton Avenue @ Sydney Street, a pull in on the 23(deadheading back to Southern), @ 11:45am this past Sunday Morning. Southern has 2 trips on the 23 on Sunday morning but they're very early in the morning.

I remember 5296 as being a quiet NABI, sounding just like a New Flyer (no whirr or anything). Is that still the case?
