I'll always remember it as my Neo line.

The 23 had a nice assortment of Neos. You probably missed the summers of 1988 & 1990 when trackwork was being performed on the 23, resulting in the line being dieselized.

Luzerne ran the 1986 Neo DK transits 3000-3116 in earnest. SOUTHERN, in those days, had the 1982 Neo AK transits(8357-8397,8401-8410). These two groups of buses provided the bulk of service on the 23 during those two summers.

On the Luzerne share, 1983 Neo BDs 8435-8439,8441-8443 sneaked in. On the Southern share, 1984 Neo BMs 8671-8697 or 1985 Neo CDs 8756-8788 sneaked in, more likely on Sundays & Holidays.

The 8300s assigned to Southern were fun to ride. Especially before they were overhauled. The 8300s were quiet at first. In some ways, riding something like 8404 on the 68 over the George C. Platt Bridge was kinda eqivalent to one riding an 1972 Buick Electra 225 when it was brand new.

Rode mostly Nabi's today, on the 104, both ways , the 11 Shuttle , and the 113 from Darby.
Rode 2333 on the 15 with my buddy , and rode a New Flyer on the 73 back to FTC.
I lucked out and rode 3427 on the 5 all way end to end. That run is weird, you drag the bus down the street, and you are still early.

I rode the 11 to Island & Woodland then the 11 Bus shuttle, via Walnut Street.

I like the cordless "mike" the starter has at 69th Street. "Last call for the 104 to Newtown Square, etc....

Just heard from my Frankford operator. He has 3427 and the back doors are intermittent at best. A trouble card was written up numerous times before and despite the shop's attempts to fix it, the problem persists. Something maybe in the wiring , or plunger assembly may be the problem. Otherwise, the bus runs fine, it has heat and good power.

A replacement bus will be brought out to him for his next trip.probably a Flyer, hopefully not a Nabi.

The Neoplan's days are numbered , so we can expect this from now on.

The first trip leaves Arrott at 5:21 AM, my error.

My apologies for this error.

This morning at 10:43 (my shcool) Wagner middle school was put in into lockdown mode. There was a shooting at 66th and broad. looking foward to what happend students could not leave the school classrooms. Lunch was brought up to our classrooms and we ate a cheesesteak! but soon as we left school they told us to go straight home. I went to my normal bus stop, there was a paratransit bus who had crossed the yellow tape where no one was supposed to cross. a police officer told me and my friends we could not wait there the K bus was taking a detour so we walked all the way up tp to ogontz and 66th the bus never came then my friend called septa and no one answered 10 minutes passed and the police officer then called septa he then told us the following detours to get the K bus well there was only one 13th and chelten we had to walk pass our school we walked up chelten to 13th and we missed the bus by a yard, well i missed the bus by a yard but my friends were lingering behind but where there is a detour there is traffic. we were able to reach the bus and get our ride home

BECAUSE OF THAT I MISSED A HYBRID BUS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN MY 16TH RIDE

-on 8041 the destination sign computer was slow so it could not change to the destination so the sign had to go to tHE term "SEPTA"

-3422 on the K
