I heard rumor today from a Frankford operator that all Neos will be retired with the February 2008 pick. According to this operator buses are going to be shifted to Frankford to cover the weekday run requirements. According to this operator this will occur to June when the new trackless trolleys will cover at least Rt. 66. Mr. Greene could you confirm this with your Rt 75 friend?

That sounds feasible considering they kept the Neoplans inside of the complex these days. At one point last year, finding any Neoplan on any Frankford route was not that differcult, but from looking at the depot today it seems to me SEPTA trying to avoid using these coaches at all costs!

ALwell Neo fans, time to really get your last rides in!

The Neos were generally parked outside last night...and there were NABIs and Flyers parked inside last night as well...

Interesting, the one swipe retirement. I was planning on getting the official last ride in February anyway, with the receipt of the trackless trolleys, but what diesel buses will fill in for all the Neo trippers and whatnot? Don't forget, at this time the last 5600s/first ZFers will be in overhaul at this time, unless they take a break or something.

Oh well, once the Neos are gone, that does it with SEPTA buses for me :( (except maybe the ZFers...well, they will become overhauled anyway).

I will ask him. There are all kinds of rumors floating around. If they still have that ice/frost problem in the winter like Vancouver, we will see some real fun. The computer is sensing frost on the wires and pulling the poles dowm automatically.

When I was up there Thursday , me and another friend counted at least 12 Neo's in the bays ready to go out as school trippers. This was at 12:30 PM

I think they will be her past February, maybe until April, May ?

The operator on the 75 , 2102 block gets a Neo every day. Get your rides with him.

By the way, let's not be so formal on this board. Mr. Greene sounds old (I am). You can call me Chuck. Thank you.

The official word from the higher-ups at Frankford is the Neo's will be retired when the trackless coaches come in. Expect them to go one a one for one basis. There are not enough buses in the depots to warrant an early scrapping of the Neo's. Frankford needs all 35 of it's Neos' now so fix them and run them. As coaches are received around February, the one for one scrapping will proceed. That bus with the hanging door will be fixed.
