I was told today 800 is going back for modifications. The 37 coaches for the fleet will be coming in at 6 per month around the beginning of next year.

The pilot 800 will be returned when the mod are complete.

I was told today that the trackless fleet will always be parked inside. No storage outside.
So don't go up to the Frankford yard to take pictures, because they will all be inside.

Also, Frankford has some technicians that will not fix minor things. They will write on the defect card NTF (no trouble found).

Hmm...that makes sense, yet is a little odd. What will they do with all of those wires in the former Trackless yard?

Hmm, SEPTA loves their new electric toys

That's very interesting, considering that there is no provisions for stringing anything in those already crowded bays (for all its size, Frankford is not that big.)

The word is they will "diesel them in". Probably leave some buses outside , like they have been doing with the Neo's. I see a lot of buses left outside now besides Neo's. Winter will be a problem when it snows. You are right , Frankford is too small.

They can't leave the trackless units outside, because of the diesel motor I was told.
I wonder why?

So are they puttingn the coaches outside so that people wont mess with the coaches. so what is the point of having the trackless yard anymore.

I will assume during the colder monthes like december to march, the coaches will have to be outside cause the buses cant take the harsh weather and have a hard time starting and the batteries will die. so if the coaches stay outside for the winter monthes and keep the buses inside the bay.

One thing that may be in the works is some redoing of the Wayne Junction train station to be ADA. SEPTA has proposed to reroute Route 75 to lay over in front of the newly modernized station. The loop at Wayne Junction would be reversed. In order to do this, the one block of one-way Greene street would have to be reversed. SEPTA is talking to the city and community about this drastic change. I will keep you informed.
