I was thinking, with all the SEPTA bashing, why don't we remind ourselves of some of the good experiences we have wtih SEPTA. I'll start off with this experience I wanted to share with you. This floored me so much, and I wasn't even on the bus! Route: 40 Blk: 9314 Bus: 5047 At around 6:30 on Belmont Ave, a rt 40 bus had just left off passengers at this one traffic light. It was an old lady with one of those cane/walkers and a friend, who were starting to cross the street. Apparently, the light was just turning green for the street they were crossing, so the bus driver gets out of her bus, and goes into the middle of the street, holding back the traffic until the old ladies made it safely across the street. You read about things like this on the SEPTA news page, but it was wonderful to actually witness this in person. I would definitely send an email about this to SEPTA, but I don't want her to get in trouble somehow for violating some operating procedure...what do you think? Any good SEPTA stories to share? I guess this experience shows that city drivers CAN be nice :). |

Nabi bus 5280: I left home for school around 7:39 when i was supposed to leave at 7:32 by 47 bus came on time but my K bus did not. School starts at 8:00, my K bus would come by at that time when i boarded the bus it would go non stop from 5th and godfrey to 66th and Broad. my bus went so fast it felt like i was on a push and pull train but i have yet to be on one. my 20 min ride lasted 5 mins! when i got to the bus stop at school i went straight to the front of the bus to thank the bus driver and to be suprised it was a lady! Thanks to the bus driver and bus 5280 i did not get marked late in attendance. i could not thank the bus driver and the bus myself thats why I call 5280 a NABI hero |
