Does anyone know if route 1 was ever split with Callowhill, Comly and Frankford?

I dont think so, but the Market-Frankford Nite owl is split with 3 depots. Callowhill, Frankford and Comly.

But if the 1 was split with 3 depots. Service must have been really great, but then again its split with 2 depots and the service is still terrible... I just dont know anymore..... such a disarray

As far as I can recall the 1 was always a Frankford/Comly route (and before it, the Boulevard Limited, for those of you who recall it, was exclusively Frankford, again from my recollection).

There was a period from the mid-80's through the early 90's that Frankford and Comly mixed their fleets and runs to some degree. I recall a number of 5 runs that used the 3400-series Neos that were assigned to Comly, and there were many instances of K and R getting the same treatment.

It would make more sense to have the 1 split between Callowhill and EITHER Comly or Frankford (I would lean towards Comly), considering the south end of the line is closer to Callowhill and it would reduce a lot of non-revenue miles...

I recall riding 8542 on the K one Saturday in early 1989, en route to the Sears Department Store. On the way back, I rode a 3400 on the K. I thought that this may have been a Germantown 3400(3430-3439) but since you stated that Frankford/Comly mixed their fleets, that sends more clarification to me as to where & why 3400s showed up on the K from time to time during that period.
