Wissahickon transfer center

the 35 used to stop there with the only eldorado, but is still in the area comming out of midvale

There is still an AM run that starts at Wissahickon (it actually loads on Ridge Ave at the northbound stop) that goes to Fountain St/Roxborough High. It leaves there around 7:25. I've seen it signed as both a 35 and a 440. In the old 35 schedule it used to go into service as a regular 35 after this run, but I'm not sure what it does now (I'm assuming it returns to Midvale since the 35 is already covered by its single bus at that point).

Speaking of Wissahickon, the new shelter appears to be finished (finally!).

Speaking of places to see just about any bus, the Metroplex stop for 27, 95 and 97 has anything that runs calling there:

27 - all artics

95 - anything from Champions to NF's

97 - anything from El D's to NF's

This run that you are talking about is not a 35 it is one of 400 series bus I think it is the 440 but not sure. The opertor usually just puts up a 35 sign instead of the 440 or Charter sign.

This location will blow all of your @$$es out of the water:

Juniper and Market:

Virtually every type of SEPTA bus in the fleet: NABIs, New Flyers [diesel and hybrids], Neo Artics, the occasional sighting of an Eldorado [likely on the 62, and once or twice on the C!], the rare sighting of a Neo AN440 [usually seen when the El fraks up], plus the NJT fleet-Flxible Metro B and D transit/Suburban, MCI D4000's, RTS [both sizes- the baby ones are a rare sight in Philly but they occasionally come across the river], and the Parkway apartment shuttle buses [The ex-WMATA Flxible, the Gillig Advantage, that blue and gray Thomas monstrosity], the cheap-@$$ Temple U buses, the Big Bus Co Doubledeckers, the purple Phlash fake trolleys, and finally all of the Greyhound and Tourist buses ever made.

This should put all of the crappy locations previously mentioned to shame.

Mark, thank you. You hit it on the head. I was trying to refrain from saying that Juniper & Market was a universal point to spot buses of all sorts.

Don't forget the Eldorado that Midvale will throw in on the 32 during the evening hours within the summer months.

Wissahickon and Hunting Park Avenues

Neoplan AN-440: 1, R
NABI'S: 1, R, 56, H, XH
Neoplan AN-460: 33
New Flyers: 1, R, 56, H, XH

Midvale Depot is right at Wissahickon and Hunting Park so you will see Eldorado's as well.

Red Arrow Lines. The only place where you can find all five batches of Detroit Diesel powered Flyers (VOH's included.)

Years ago(fall 1989-winter 1989-1990)- you could find every type of Neoplan 40 foot bus @10th & Erie, everything from both east & west, as well as north.

1982 Neo AK(8357-8397,8401-8410)- Southern share of C
1983 Neo BD(8435-8444)- Luzerne pull ins for Luzerne routes(mainly 6 & 53)
1984 Neo BP (1301-1325)- Luzerne pull ins for 25 & 89, as well as emergencies
1985 Neo CD(8784,8785,8787)- Luzerne pull ins for Luzerne routes
1986 Neo DK(3000-3116)- Luzerne pull ins
1987 Neo EI(3272-3311)- Luzerne pull ins

You might have found a handful of Fishbowls floating through the area, as well as PCCs on the 23 & 56.

The same holds true for 5th & Erie/6th & Erie but only for everything to the east.
You would see 1982 Neo AKs assigned to Southern for the 47.
