At the free library in the Photo and picture section down at 19th and vine street, they have a great collection of photos of trolley, PCCI cars, a couple of Neoplan An440 photos and pictures of the el in 1990 when the M3 Budd car had an accident at 30th and market.

IF you get a chance, come and check them out. in fact, they let you donate photos as well, so the people that like transit, like us, can enjoy the photos that people donated........

Wow, where is the photos and pictures section? Are the transit photos in a particular book? I go there from time to time and really like the building, so I may go check it out when I have a chance!

Hi, does anyone have any old photos of SEPTA's city division buses, that were used on Red Arrow routes, when SEPTA took over in 1970? I know that they had 1967 GMC newlooks(4230-4237) and some 1956 GMC old looks(500-600 series) assigned there.

Thanks for the info, but I've already seen these photos. When I was going to high school in the early 70's, at Roman Catholic, I used to see a lot of 44, 44G and 45 Red Arrow runs on the Schuylkill x-way, while I was riding on the old A-exp to and from school. I remember seeing the GMC new looks(renumbered 253-257) on these routes. Also, while visiting at the 69th St. Terminal during this time, I remember that these buses were used on routes that operated out of there, and that the drivers never had the route letter displayed, just the destination, whereas they were always used on the x-way routes. Finally, I remember that the GMC old looks had the vehicle #s senticled on the backside of the bus, below the roof near, the back two windows, which was used commonly by Red Arrow Lines.
