When 3414 was retrofitted with the DD50 did it still have the old livery on the bus. or did it just get an overhaul with the new strip? What engine did the Volvo B-10 Artic have ? What engine did the Volvo B-10 Transit 40-footer have? Did the seats on the B-10 artics match the same seats as the one in the B-10 40 footer? |

3414 was retrofitted back in 1994 which was one year after the DD50 was introduced. The bus was overhauled during the same time as the rest of the 1989 fleet of Neoplans. The Volvos had a THD100EK engine, same with the RIPTA rejected 40 footer as well... |

How does the THD100EK engine sound compared to 6v92ta and other old Cummins/DD engines? |

No. The B10m artics introduced the current NABI/pre-2002 New Flyer/MFSE style seats. Many of those seats were refurbished and live on in the PCC-2's. 8590 [the B10m 40 footer] had seats that were the same as the Neoplan Suburbans [blue padded seats]. |

It sounded pretty underpowered, if I can remembered well... The Current Artics in the fleet is an huge improvement over those units. Edited by Van2006ko, Jun 23 2008, 05:47 PM.

Underpowered, no turbo or supercharging, THREE SPEED tranny (Hell I just found out about that recently) and overweight. Now compare that to to the 1999/2000 Neoplan AN460 Artics, its like putting a Model T against a Shelby Cobra. |

The ZF Ecomat has between 4-6 speeds, I'm pretty sure the version of it in the Vovlos has 4.. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... It sounds pretty much simlier to this, BTW the Vovlo THD100EK was a turbodiesel... |

#3414 was in the new livery after bein retrofitted. I rode it twice before it was retired. It ran pretty wel. It seemed to be a rather quiet bus for a Neoplan Darryl Bulls. |
