Has anyone ever had a time they bought a SEPTA day pass and 2 dates were clipped off the ticket? I had that happen when I was in Philly. It wasnt mentioned until I was boarding the Market Frankford line at 2nd St station going Westbound. The attendant told me the ticket was bought on the 12th since it had both 12th and 14th clipped out. I did tell him I bought it on the 14th and he accepted it as well as asked where I bought the ticket and I told him 8th street. Then other SEPTA operators and attendants didnt say anything until I was getting on at 15th street later in the day. The attendant said the ticket had both the 12th and 14th clipped out. I did inform her I bought it on the 14th and where I bought it. And she told me I should have reported it. But when I returned home from vacation I did file a complaint about that ticket. And hopefully my next visit they will clip out only the current days date. I do wish SEPTA had electronic day passes similar to PATCOs tickets. Since electronic passes the current day is printed on the ticket. |

It seems like the first cashier clipped two dates. It was her error and you were wise to report it. SEPTA should give you a free day pass for making that error. SEPTA needs a new fare system. They are working on it. Chuck Greene |

I do hope the new fare system is the Gen Fare Odessey fare boxes on buses with the same fare system for the subways as PATCO has. As well as unlimited Day pass use. Whats a day pass if it can only be used for upto 8 trips. Luckily 2 bus drivers allowed me an extra trip. Since SEPTA as well as every major Transit Authority has drivers who let things slide. Like Bmore MTA. All drivers are suppose to have all passengers swipe their card as they are boarding. But many of them either allow passengers to show their pass or tell passengers to show their pass as they are boarding. |

SEPTA isnt the only one who made a mistake on my day pass. I had the same thing happen with DART my first trip to Wilmington Delaware. The driver forgot to push the button to print the day pass out so he grabbed a ticket that he was holding onto and wrote the date on the ticket. I did have 2 drivers confront me but I just shown them my pass and they accepted it. Then my 2 other day passes they did push the button to print the ticket out as I was paying. And the ticket was 100% valid. Which hopefully I will see next time Im in Philly. I do think SEPTA should allow one day pass to be for unlimited use rather then only 8 trips in one day. Especially after they at some point upgrade the fare system. |

With my day pass on the 14th. One attendant tried to tell me the pass was purchased on the 12th. And the other said that both the 12th and 14th were clipped out. But whoever sold me that ticket most likely did get in trouble for doing it. Since as soon as I first got on the computer at home I did file a complaint to SEPTA about both 5640 blocking the intersection on Chesnut St crossing Broad Street causing northbound traffic on broad street to miss a green light. And the day pass issue was also filed to SEPTA the same day. |

How come SEPTA replaced the Day Pass with the 8 trip convenience pass? |

Few things.... 1. The Convience pass was created because the authority was to eliminate transfers...but, as we can clearly see, that was avoided. 2. The reason they didn't go back, is because...they're making $$ off of it. 3. do me a favor, the next time a bus is blocking the street, or is doing something not so major in which people arent severly hurt, dont report it. no driver wants to have to go in to see the superintendent over a traffic complaint. yes, it was wrong, but the operator probably had a very good reason fo doing it.... |

I think the operator pulled out into the intersection to avoid missing a green light and having to wait for the next one. Which buses are going by a schedule. Some routes allow enough running time. Some do not. I do hope SEPTA drivers are not like Baltimore MTA. Baltimore MTA drivers at times do speed to catch up on schedule. And some have gotten caught some did not. As for having the see the supervisor over a complaint. No one likes that at all. But it does happen. When I go to Philly again next Saturday I am going to make sure my ticket has only the current date clipped out on it. If it has more then 1 day I will go back to the attendant I bought it from and tell them that.
