HAVERFORD TWP., Pa., - June 27, 2008 (WPVI) -- It was a crazy scene at the Route 100 Septa train station during the rush hour tonight.

Shots rang out, people scurried for cover, but when the smoke cleared, one person had been shot, and that was only the beginning.

Haverford Township police cordoned off the parking lot of the Septa Route 100 train station at the intersection of Haverford and College Avenues. It was about 6:30 this evening during the rush hour that a confrontation broke out between 3 men said to be talking in the parking lot.

Authorities say shortly thereafter, shots rang out. One of the men fell to the ground as other Septa commuters scurried for cover. The two other men involved fled the scene in a maroon colored sedan with Maryland license tags that was pursued by police.

The suspects made their way south on Haverford Road four miles into Philadelphia. The car ultimately crashed with another motorist at the intersection of Haverford and Sherwood where the suspects fled on foot. Philadelphia police officers who had been alerted captured the suspects a few blocks away. They were arrested without incident. The accident was minor and there were no injuries reported.

The shooting victim was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in critical condition. Late tonight, police continue to question the suspects. There are suspicions this all may have been sparked by a drug deal gone bad
