A SEPTA bus hits and kills a person in Delaware County.

The accident, involving a Route 113 bus, happened around 8p.m. Wednesday at 9th and Main Streets in Upper Darby.

SEPTA confirms that both front tires of the bus made contact with the victim. It also appears to SEPTA that the victim was hit head on and in full view of the driver, who was pulling into the bus loop at the time of the accident.

Witnesses tell Fox 29 the victim may have been on his cell phone at the time.

It is unclear if any passengers were on the bus.

SEPTA officials say the driver will be held off, questioned, and tested for drugs. This is a standard procedure for an accident involving a SEPTA vehicle.

We'll have more information on this story as it becomes available.
