The width of the 1984 Volvo B10M is 96 inches. As matter as fact, when the artics arrived into service there were several proposed alterations to the RT 33. To accommodate for the increase width size of the Neoplan Artics.

The width of the New Look was 102' and 96' for the Flxibles.

What is the engine and Transmission for the the Flxible and new look?

More then Likely they have the Detroit Diesel Series 71 or in more simpler terms the 6v71TA or perhaps they had the 6v71N. The 40 foot Flxibles have the 8v71N where as the 35 foot and the New Look has the 6v71N. The differences between the two is TA stands for Turbo Aftercooler and N stands for Naturally Aspirated. Meaning no turbochager... I believe the 6v71N and 8v71N were fairly common on buses back in the 60-70s. Turbochargers in buses is a fairly modern concept.

The transmission is the Allison V730 which is a 3 speed transmission. Although the New Look may have a "Slush-Pusher" which is a VS-2 speed transmission.

Look at the current assignments page under buses leased to private contractors.
