Haven't had the chance to comment on this, but apparently, the city changed the name of a major street in the Germantown area. According to the Route 65 interior sign, the route terminates at "Germantown and Cheltenham Pike".

Anyone else notice this on the 65? This as a Callowhill bus that I saw it on.

Its been like that since the Flyers was equipped with the CARD radios (It was actually correct before those things was installed.) Allegheny managed to reprogram a bulk of their snakes back to RT. 65 - GERMANTOWN AND CHELTEN and had the announcements corrected, but lost them when they went into overhaul at Berridge.

Yeah that has as been the case for a long time. The inside sign says Germantown and Cheltenham Pikes. The outisde announcer use to say "Welcome to Rt. 65 to Germantown and Cheltenham Ave." Callowhill had fixed some of the outside announcers but the majority are still using the incorrect version.

Lol - 9th and Fayette is an intersection out in Conshohocken. What's interesting is that the 97 (and maybe the 95 as well) has an announcement for a route 65 stop (or was it the 63?).

Intriguing, eh?

Generally, its the Callowhill NABIS which has the out of date announcement software. More likely its because these units are facing retirement between now and one year from now. I've ridden on #5055/blk #9606 on the 65 yesterday and it still has that Fayette Street Announcement. BTW, for you guys who are wondering where Fayette st is at. Its in Conshohocken and the announcement belongs to the route 95. Back in 2005, the buses on the route 95 when coming to Fayette street has the same reaction. Instead of announcing the right announcement it quoted one which was supposed to be play on the 65.

In 2006, both Callowhill and Allegheny applied these fixes to the system on certain buses. As result the announcements varied from the original one. As cited in the above post it now displays "Germantown and Cheltenham Pike". A'l well that's pretty good considering we're dealing with SEPTA here.

The Route 44 had the same error as well.
