Stops Permanently Discontinued Beginning Monday, October 20, 2008, the following service changes will occur resulting from SEPTA being directed by the managing agent of these properties to immediately cease bus service and remove all bus stops from each property: Route 92 will no longer serve Main Street at Exton Shopping Center. Service will operate along Pottstown Pike in both directions Route 107 will no longer serve MacDade Mall. Service will operate along MacDade Blvd, Ashland Avenue, and Academy Avenue Route 111 will no longer serve the Franklin Mint Office Park. Service will operate along Baltimore Pike in both directions Route 114 will no longer serve Eddystone Crossings Shopping Center. Service will operate along Chester Pike in both directions Route 115 will no longer serve MacDade Mall. Service will operate along MacDade Blvd, Ashland Avenue, and Academy Avenue Each bus route notice in PDF provides a map of the service changes. SEPTA regrets the short notice to customers and we realize the inconvenience this change will cause. http://www.septa.org/travel_advisory/bus.html |

I am shocked and appalled. Is this new management? Do they not understand how transit plays into the role of things, such as traffic calming and getting employees to these locations? I wonder what their "logical" reason was behind banning bus service to these locations? |

My guess is the management company wanted to charge SEPTA to have their bus stops located on the property and SEPTA bulked at that. The majority of the routes use Eldorados so I don't think it was a space thing. I'll bet money SEPTA soon will have a public hearing to cut the 115 back to Delmar Village and a rerouting of the 107. That is a tight turn at Ashland and MacDade. I also think the people of Chester will scream about the 114 change. A lot of people take the 114 to the Walmart inside the Eddystone Crossings. |
