WHY NOT NOLAN? ME PERSONALLY THEY SHOULD HAVE USED THEM ON THE R AND THE 20/50 MORE SO. But the 14 is still agood choice to use artics on. I have rode the 14 before, gets really crowded.

The 14 doesn't need them. What that line needs is a proper Limited Stop Local - Express - Limited service to take the pressure off the all stop busses. We have been waving red flags up about how the 14 is running a 5 minute street where every bus is packed on a 6 lane highway.

And D, Doug's plan for the ENTIRE Boulevard has those routes in mind. And the 1 is playing a huge role in it.

All jokes aside, you know what? if Midvale ran a portion of the 1, you would see El Dorado's out there on the Boulevard... LOL!!! The funny thing is, it is not a joke!!!

Well I think some trips on the 14 does indeed qualified to have artics. There are areas on this route which does get a insane amount of people and I do see the idealization behind the 100% artic madness. I do think SEPTA will be better off if they put the control into the blocker hands and assign additional 10 artics to any other route at Comly besides the 14 though. SEPTA is already practicing placing both 40 foot low Floors and Standards on the 14 since this change. I think during the times when SEPTA diverged form placing artics on the 14.They should place them on other Comly routes - no need to use them at all.

I'm not disputing the the fact that the 14 need artics, that has never been at issue. What has been is the lack of limited stop and express service taking advantage of the twelve lane bohemoth that is the Roosevelt Boulevard. Add in the fact that 90% of those buses are running past Red Lion Road or Byberry Road with SRO crowds almost every trip should say something right there.
