75-2102 (coach 832) has poor body heat. The windows were fogging up inside with a standing load.

66-2051, the first night liner on the 66 had to turn the coach in, no body heat or defroster heat.

Winter is coming and we have bad heat in the Trackless.

My Frankford driver friend may say the same thing, that the AMG's were cold, I'll check with him. He is a senior term operator, like you.
I guess the warranty is in effect. What is a normal new bus/ trackless warranty, 2 years??

Ed, My driver friend of 28 years says the heat was good on the AMG's , the A/C was lousy.
Some of the AMG's were too hot , he said.

And the A/C comes on automatically on the new coaches., They sense a rise in indoor coach temperature and it turns the A/C on, it's a terrible system. The operator has no way to adjust the thermostat, either.

I drove them when they were new. as time passed they fixed them. i only drove them one winter in 1982. i recall they were put into service feb.2,1982. first 30 were delivered in 1980,but short lived use[few months] then they sat 2 years. then all 110 put into service in 82. was weird driving a brand new nearly 3 year old bus. i probly drove at frankford with your 28 yr driver friend. im positive i would know him.

I'll contact you by email, via this board. You may know this driver.

Still poor heat in coaches. SEPTA is getting tired of swapping them mid-run.
All 66 operators cutting at Gregg St. had to get out in the rain to do the poles. (no wires back up there yet, it's being rewired). Then you have to get back into a cold coach. It's a bad deal.

817 is on the 75-2102 with decent defroster heat and only fair body heat.

They have determined it's a computer glitch in the Trackless HVAC system. There is only a 6 degree spread between the Heat coming on or the A/C. Thermo-King ,a well noted maker of HVAC systems has to come in and fix this, fast.

Meanwhile,we all freeze riding those things, operators and passengers.
