Has Vancouver experienced any of the problems that SEPTA has had with their large trackless trolley New Flyer fleet?

From what I hear from the other transit forums, Vancouver is having a lot better luck with theirs.
I'll assume that the heat works better, too.

Chuck Greene
I heard that while Vancouver's tracklesses are now performing well, they too had a number of teething problems similar to SEPTA's when they first entered service...

The trackless fleet has a new Heating program in them. So the heat in the entire fleet is working a lot better.
I had a feeling it had something to do with a computer program. That entire vehicle is filled with programs.

Rode 818 today , the heat was fine.
The 11:15 trip out of Arrott (2002 block)we had a seated load, very unusual. (2002 block) called control to check on his leader (2102) block, to see if a trackless was out of place or something. His leader was on time.
A lot of traffic at Broad & Wyoming and 15th and Wyoming. There was a really bad auto crash at Broad and Rockland, that sent traffic scurrying,. We saw a C bus coming down 15tth. St.

On the westbound 11:15 trip , we saw three trackless in a row eastbound near Broad st.
One coach was held up by a truck, so he was 18 minutes late, then a training coach, then the regular 75.

Another fun day on the 75.

Mr Greene, you grew up in the same neck of town where I grew up at, albeit during a different period.

With that in mind, did you ever ride the 75 through Logan back in the early 1960s?

Wyoming Avenue, from the Boulevard up to 11th Street(from Louden to Wyoming) had houses galore.

The Logan Triangle is a term not to be taken lightly in the Logan area. I am sure that you know the history associated with this term & you can figure out the rest.

Up until the mid 1980s, didn't the 75 have a strong ridership base in the Logan area?

I never rode the 75 back then. I've only ridden the 75 since 2004. All is see now is vacant lots, where houses used to stand. Philadelphia's ash pits did their nasty deed. It's a shame.

We saw an operator being trained(the training coach) on the 75 with a NABI,. I guess they started him of on a"real" bus. SEPTA is certainly hiring a lot of new people.

59-2001 , coach 825 ,and 59-2002 coach 801 went out on the 59 with terrible heat.
59-2001 is turning his in after a few trips. 59-2002 will keep his coach.

Another bad heating day at SEPTA. They were all hoping the new program would run the heat better.

808 also on the 59 had bad heat. 801 was swapped for 807, the heat was adequate.

Let's hope whatever they are tinkering with to fix the ehat, does not ruin the good A/C for the summer that the trackless has.
