59-2002 has OK heat, but the sign does not work, front & side. Also the two pole retriever buttons in the rear are missing. The operator is working on the sign right now.

Wait a minute, which bus did they have? I haven't seen a TT coach's display act up except for on 821, and 809...

My bad,I forgot to mention it was 816 on 59-2002 today, 03/11/09.

the funny thing is: I haven't seen 816 in service ever... everytime i saw it, it was not in service... or at least it appeared that way...

816 still does not have the buttons installed properly. They claim they are just stuck inside. I was a mechanical designer, how does the button fall inside? SEPTA has a vehicle that coasts twice the price of a bus and and is not fixing the minor things on it. Nice image.

802 has a bad transfer cutter, the list goes on and on.

Neoplan also made ETB's. DE40LFR's were available in 2006... something to kick around in the 'ol noggin...

Huh??????? I don't get the connection.

You must understand, though, that later Neoplans weren't really all that great. It's a primary reason why they shut down - they had to keep rebuilding all of those buses!

Our ETBs, in my opinion, are better than the Neoplan ones (in Boston). They just have a lot of teething issues that need to be addressed....

59/75 -2102 had 826 today. The A/C fail light came on, so he was forced to turn the climate control system off.

The continuing saga of the troubles of the trackless.....

It's been hot the past few days. About 4 Trackless operators are saying that ever since New Flyer /Frankford District fooled with the heat, the A/C is not as cold as last year. As you might remember, last year , the Trackless coaches were very cold, one operator called them "meat lockers"

Chuck ,(I remember last year. I had to wear a light jacket)

817 has lousy A/C, a woman came by the operator and was fanning herself, it was so hot.
They are saying this A/C is worse than the old trackless. Passengers are pushing open the bottoms of some of the the windows to get some fresh air . They fooled with the heat this winter and now the A/C stinks.

And there is a detour besides.

#824 was operating today on either the 59 or 75. It was written up Monday for lousy AC, and back in service with lousy A/C. They just don't fix them!

There are major problems with some of the climate control systems on various TT coaches.
I'm surprised New Flyer is not fixing them.
