SEPTA and the city are working the loop configuration so the 75 can lay over at the Wayne Junction
RR station. Some new wire must be hung, and one-way Greene street has to be reversed.

The plan must be going forward. see below, I just got this news.

The one way street signs are already up when you enter Greene St. It has two big Do Not Enter signs and a stop sign on Greene for traffic in the opposite direction. Obviously they are moving forward with the new routing. Possibly the traffic pattern will not change until the wires are restrung but they are getting the residents ready.

With this new signs up, everybody is entering and do not enter area, it's strange.

Does anyone have confirmation on if & when this is happening??

Thanks in advance,

Chuck Greene

usually when you tell people not to do something it makes them want to do it more.

At this point , you can go in the street(Greene) the same way. You are blowing through the DO NOT ENTER signs but they won't take effect until the trackless wires are rehung on Roberts, Wayne, and Windrim and the 75 starts going the new, reversed way. Greene street runs south east now. The new direction will be northwest.
Right now the autos park against the curb so the driver gets out on the sidewalk side by the houses. That will change so they face the other way and will exit on the street side.

You have to ride the 75 to see. Greene st. is a narrow, one way street. It's tight for a transit vehicle.
In the new direction, those drivers better learn how to park close to the curb. The Trackless may have to drive with the left wheels up on the sidewalk on the left side to pass a car that is out too far.

Let's hope for the best.

Let's hope with the new loop reversal, they give the 75 , 2 more minutes running time from Wayne Junction Train Station to Broad St. Currently , they allow 5 minutes. With the new loop, there are too many turns to make going eastbound, they will need extra time. The old loop was more of a straight shot. One right turn from the stand, and you were on Windrim Ave.

Here's a 75 at the current terminal, on Wayne ave., about to pull out to make a right on Windrim.

When is this new loop supposed to go into effect? Hopefully I can grab a photograph of the old loop before it changes...

I would say get you "old" photo ASAP.

There are SEPTA engineers down at Wayne Junction with clipboards making sketches of the wiring presumably to get ready to reverse the wires. They even asked one lady if she was a resident of Greene st.

Looks like with the street signs up the other way(DO NOT ENTER) and new stop sign for the reversed street, at the northwest corner of Greene & Windrim, this loop reversal is getting top priority.

I saw the new signs for myself today, they are definitely reversing the 75 loop.
The operator was out of the coach fixing his poles and I got this these shots.

Traffic is still entering Greene Street the old way, against the new signs. The mandatory reversal will be in effect after SEPTA rehangs new wire on Windrim, Wayne , & Roberts and part of Greene Street. We just don't know when exactly that will happen.

The nice thing about the Wayne Junction loop reversal will be the elimination of the crossover and special work at Greene & Windrim. Also, the 75 won't have to deal with the illegally parked cabs at WJ station on the east side. The Greene Street residents have all gotten their reminder letters that the street direction is changing and the new STOP and DO NOT ENTER signs tell it all.
