I just got a call from a reliable source. SEPTA is going to rewire the loop in the pattern that was originally chosen. Park at WJ Station, then stay on Windrin, left on Wayne, left on Roberts, Rt.,Left on Greene, Right regular route. They are going to rewire in conjugation with the issue of the Spring Schedules so the Greene Street STOP and DO NOT ENTER signs were moved so the next few months before the changeover will not be confusing. Now it all makes sense. So you guys that want old wires pictures, you have 2 months. I would think the schedule change for Winter would add a few minutes ,eastbound, as the TT has more turns to make with the revised routing. Only another note, the traffic signal on Wyoming at Belfield westbound was a 6 second light. The route 75 had a bad time making it. They re-timed it to 8 seconds, which makes a world of difference, the operator told me. They also took the sensor that was sensing all the cars at the intersection, so now the light comes on green during a normal cycle. The way it was set up before, the cycle would run through and skip westbound Wyoming, if there was nobody there. It will be possible if you are a 75, and you are most of the way down Wyoming,, and near Belfield, to keep rolling on a green light and bust through, making it. I'll confirm all that. Chuck |

The neighbors on Greene street are protesting the street reversal. That all should have been settled by now, but it's not. Stay tuned. Chuck Greene |

Why would they wait until now to protest? |

The whole thing makes no sense. The complaint I heard is if Greene Street, faces North West, like it will with the reversal, cars will have a hard time getting onto Windrim Ave. Well , so will the trackless. I think that's a lame complaint, but we'll see what happens. It's not that hard for the Trackless now to make a left turn off Windrim into Greene Street, the current loop, so coming out the other way and making a right turn should be fairly easy for cars and transit. Rather than starting another topic, I'll add this news here: Route 75-2102 had a bad day Friday. The coach ahead of him was reported to have a slippery floor. It seems like the floor was soap-washed down earlier, and some soap remained. When the passengers got in the coach, their wet feet caused the soap to get wet, resulting in some slips. The district tried to reassign coaches so a coach change could be made, like take the next coach in line, but the operator who had a called control about the soap at 6:55 , missed a trip, So 75-2102 had a 32 minute load line street. Later on ,the coach that was supposed to leave at @ 9:55 , left at 9:40. It was a brand new, one week old operator, who claims he mis-read the schedule. They let him go on that one , but next time he will have to call control about his mistakes. So 75-2102 had a 35 minute street, for his 10:15 trip, instead of 20 minutes. The operator said his 75 riders were very nice about it, and give him food. He said the riders on the 66 are not friendly, they would give you something bad to eat, etc. Chuck Greene |

I rode the 75 today, and the first shot shows you there's a pretty good stretch of Windrim to pull out on if Greene St. gets reversed. Greene st. is visible to the right and still points the old way, for now. Any capable driver, even with a little traffic can get in that left lane to make the left turn up Germantown. Ave. The next shot is just after we passed Greene St. The other thing is they have made a bus stop zone in front of the Wayne Junction station, it shows (the third & fourth photo), and are ticketing cars illegally parked there. We saw 2 cars with tickets as they were in the new bus zone. It seems like the first week the bus stop area was defined, they let people park there , anyway. Now the show is over. So the loop reversal must be moving along. |

So does the operator EPU into the right spots or did they go along the old route 75. because it doesn't look like the wires are there yet. |

They will use the old route until the wires are redone. Greene st. has not been reversed yet. Several TT coaches are running around with either headlights or tail/stoplights out. the problem is New Flyer can't supply replacement parts soon enough. At least 6 coaches are in this condition. This is besides the lousy heat problem. Chuck Greene |

If that's the case, then these same riders on the 66 should have protested in droves pertaining to the elimination of express service along Frankford Avenue from Cottman to Rhawn. Did they protest? And honestly, do they think that the operators on the 66 like losing part of the express service? I wouldn't be surprised if operators coming from Frankford & Knights, as well as Frankford & Gregg bypass riders between Rhawn & Cottman due to heavier than expected ridership patterns. Frankford & Rhawn can be considered as one of the more important stops on the 66. |

I got a preliminary report, one TT operator told another operator that the wire crew was working on the Westbound Rte. 75 wires at the J. Silvert's company(2nd & Wyoming). We are trying to get them moved in closer to the center of the street, so the TT poles and ropes can pass the high parked trucks. The wires actually should be moved East & Westbound, since trucks double park on both sides to unload. My operator will check out the wires today. Chuck Greene |
