My operator will check out the wires today.

The report I just got is the westbound wires were noticeably moved.
The next time he passes a big truck I will get how much this helps.

Here's the latest update on the route 75 Reversal at Wayne Junction.
We all know the big issue is the reversal of Greene St.
Here's the problem.
They can reverse the street but in exchange for the reversal, the neighbors want parking permits issued to them so they have a place to park when they come home,so the commuters don't take their spots. The Philadelphia Parking Authority(PPA) is fighting issuing these permits. When this issue gets resolved the permits will be issued, Greene St. will be reversed ,the wires will be redone and the 75 will layover at Wayne Junction Station as has been discussed here.

What's the expression, "Go fight City Hall".

Stay tuned.....

What commuters are they worried about taking up parking spaces? They'd have the same spaces then that they do now.

Commuters have to already be taking the spaces, and the neighborhood is just trying to link that to reversing the street direction and wanting to be a permit parking area....

A resident of Greene St. rode the trackless today. She said the people on the street have no objection to the street being reversed. The permit parking signs are up, but the holdup is the neighbors don't have their permits yet, so we wait some more to see the 75 loop reversal.

Nothing is easy.

Hey now, if the 75 is laying over in front of the station, it may take up those spaces. I know that there are people that park in front of the station right now.

Which makes me ask - why is there no park & ride there? Transit service (outside of RR and maybe the 23) isn't that great out there.

I don't know what SEPTA has in mind for parking at Wayne Junction. Even though the 75 has not been reversed yet, the No Parking is in effect now in front of the station for the coach to layover when it does reverse.

If you drive by there, you will see the area has been cleared.

Interesting. I haven't been there for a little while, maybe a month or so ago,.

I better run back for pics - I would love it if Wayne Junction was reconstructed and the area was upgraded with transit revitalization. I think that area surely warrants it, and we can bring back streetcar service on the Germantown Ave corridor to Chestnut Hill!

This is not a real good picture, it was taken 11-20-08, but you can see pretty well the absence of cars/cabs in front of the WJ train station. That area will be the new Rte. 75 layover area.

Why would they wait until now to protest?
Because this is Philadelphia, and people love waiting until the last minute to complain and throw a monkey wrench into plans...

I don't think the people are complaining, they just don't have their permits yet. The woman who was the spokesman for the block said they did not object to the street being reversed.
