Reeko, thanks for posting your pictures. Our operator showed us how the pull-out from Greene St. , even though it's just a right turn on Windrim, is a problem. Those cars come a mile a minute up that street and visibility is bad for the SEPTA operators.

Rode 810 on the 75 block 2002 today. The lady operator left at 10:21 from Wayne Junction instead of 10:25. Any reason they are leaving early? She was a fast driver. There were 5 or 6 trucks parked outside of J. Silvert Co. when we went by. What does that company make/go anyway? Kind of reidiculous to have that many trucks parked on the street. She took that turn onto Penn St real fast and the front left wheel really rubbed. The 4700 block isopen and the trackless is capable of going around the barrier.

Crazy day transitfanning. Pictures and information coming later tonight.

Sounds like the 75 is falling apart.....

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Woman-Hit-With-SEPTA-Trolley-Wires.html

Woman Hit by SEPTA Wire

The wire fell from an elevated line.

The power lines run SEPTA's trolley-bueses.

A woman was hurt after a power line for SEPTA's trolleybuses fell and hit her Sunday. Lucky for her, it wasn't a live wire. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

One of the electrical lines broke free and fell, hitting a woman.

The line ended up in a nearby tree. Officials are not sure why the line fell.
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. at Oxford and Foulkrod Avenues in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.

The wire that fell was a support wire, according to a SEPTA spokesman.

Police and the transportation agency are investigating the cause of the accident.

The 75's leave Wanye Junction early because of the new traffic pattern and EPU use. Once the wire crew gets the wires moved, SEPTA will adjust the schedule.
J. Silvert's is a food distribution warehouse, trucks are in and out of there all day. It's a pain for the trackless. We are trying to get that guy to move his business, but to no avail.
The left front wheel always rubs on that turn from Orthodox onto Penn, the street is sunken at that area. 4700 Penn is open but not fixed yet, the water company keeps coning back and playing with it. So expect more detours.

Are you a regular rider of the 75? Was that the regular operator that left early?

Nope, first time on the 75 and a trackless. No idea if it was the regular operator. It was a white female and the block was 2002. She left Arrott again at 11:15. I forgot which blovk your friend was on Chuck

It was a good trip....you have to feel bad for them having to get on and off those couple times for the poles.

You are the 75 expert Chuck :P

Thanks for the updated information. Thanks for the compliment but I am not an expert.
I'm glad you see how much of a pain it is with the pole pulling and re-poling.

Mind you that lady who was hit got taken to Temple University hospital. She claims she was electrocuted when hit with a span wire. The funniest thing is though, she did the whole "animated" electric motion and had the audacity to lay on the ground, place a blank stare on her face and point her finger up. People, span wire have no power in them. It was however 3'' from the negative wire. Now if it had it hit the negative wire and then touched her, it would have been another story. But until then....people will do anything to make some money.

The lady operating route 75 2002 block is almost a regular. She's in the hold downs. When more people retired, transfer or leave, she will become a regular. The newest regular will be operating the late 75 starting next picking. It was the last thing left, so that is what he got.

Oh, and by the way, the shop foreman said that EPU is being overused. When, not IF but WHEN it stops working, those coaches will be off the street! (Thank God). They have poor air. The DR500C annunicators are having technical problems. The retriever system in the coaches are failing. You have to use EPU 3 times on the 75. Bells Corner is getting its wires taken down either this week or next week for construction. The Arrott Terminal Construction is lasting until October. Wayne Junction will begin its construction soon. It's time for diesel. Don't be surprised if you see NABIs, and Flyers on the 59 and 75 by the end of the summer. The lates (59-2015 and 75-2115) are getting them already. more people will soon....very soon.
