Mind you that lady who was hit got taken to Temple University hospital. She claims she was electrocuted when hit with a span wire. The funniest thing is though, she did the whole "animated" electric motion and had the audacity to lay on the ground, place a blank stare on her face and point her finger up. People, span wire have no power in them. It was however 3'' from the negative wire. Now if it had it hit the negative wire and then touched her, it would have been another story. But until then....people will do anything to make some money.
You mean the positive wire. The negative wire has no current either, it's the return path....

Thanks for the clarification. Something did not make sense when I read the initial statement.
Did you ever see the overhead wire crews do their work? They can work on the positive hot wire while it is hot, you have to know what you are doing!!!!!

Lot's of wire action at Wayne Junction. The clips and curved segments are supposedly up. I'll try to get some photos.Maybe they will finish the job in two weeks as planned. The trackless will return to the 75!

Oh, and by the way, the shop foreman said that EPU is being overused. When, not IF but WHEN it stops working, those coaches will be off the street! (Thank God). They have poor air. The DR500C annunicators are having technical problems. The retriever system in the coaches are failing. You have to use EPU 3 times on the 75. Bells Corner is getting its wires taken down either this week or next week for construction. The Arrott Terminal Construction is lasting until October. Wayne Junction will begin its construction soon. It's time for diesel. Don't be surprised if you see NABIs, and Flyers on the 59 and 75 by the end of the summer. The lates (59-2015 and 75-2115) are getting them already. more people will soon....very soon.
I wouldn't go around saying that the detours are the reason why the EPU is going. Every day, the shop moves are made with EPU only. When the TTs pull off of Frankford Ave (either from Arrott Street or at the 66 pull in), they are EPUing to the depot, around the depot, and then park. They do the reverse to get back to the routes.

Might as well paid the extra money to make them 100% dual mode, but meh. Just a great case to keep TTs OUT of South Philadelphia, from a SEPTA point of view.

Nothing but clips up for the new wire. I was disappointed. Lot's of NABI's on the 75.

Also , look at how rusty the tops of the trackless are getting. The pole hook thing looks awful.

There is nothing going on with the wiring at Wayne Junction wiring, except for the clips on the wires. How SEPTA is going to do this on a planned two week bus substitution is beyond me.

If it extends past the summer, Frankford will be short on buses. The directive is currently for every new bus that comes in (a hybrid, of course), a NABI must be scrapped. So we will not have any excess buses, if they eventually retire the rest of the NABI's.

Looks like they "may" be doing some overhead work. They are staying out of Greene st. with the bus according to this detour.

Wayne Junction wiring:

It's taking forever to get these wires put up. Rumor has it the project will take until the end of the year! That's absurd.

So expect buses on the 75 for the foreseeable future
