That's why I cannot see their logic in retiring the 5000s from Callowhill & Midvale.

Years ago, notably during the last days of PTC & the days after the Woodland depot fire, SEPTA kept a reserve fleet of buses to sustain their bus shortages.

Frankford is expecting some hybrids soon so maybe they can use them for the backup or something.

Wayne Junction wiring:

It's taking forever to get these wires put up. Rumor has it the project will take until the end of the year! That's absurd.

So expect buses on the 75 for the foreseeable future

The only progress is that they have removed the crossover at Greene & Windrim. It is not needed any more.
This re-wiring and Rte. 66 Gregg st. loop will take forever. expect buses on the 75 for the foreseeable future.

Just got word the 75 is running trackless. EPU at Arrott & Wayne Junction
Thanks, for the heads up, group member. It's a shame the Wayne junction wires are not up in the 2 week busing period.

Stay tuned.

A member of management told me the Wayne Junction wiring project is delayed because of the lack of parts(curved segments), so expect the job to be done by the end of July.

at the rate this project is going at, i'll be back in school way before they actually finish, this is like.... the third delay, probably even higher... it's probably the 5th delay of the re-wiring. I hope this is the last one

Wayne Junction wiring update.

They removed all the wire they will not use anymore(the old ,loop wiring). The wires stay as they are on Greene St., as they will re-use them, they just have to tie the curves into them. So there is still a lot of work to be done.
At Arrott, the 75 is laying over on Oxford Ave. The load up on the 59 stand. They are working
in the manhole in the 75 loop area. And they are still working in the steps area at Arrott..

This affects 59 & 75, and 89.

4700 Penn St. is being blacktopped for 3 days. Finally the street will be finished. Let's hope no more sinkholes!

Also,I got a report that the ramp at Bells Corner is coming along nicely. Now they have to pave the loop, that's next.

Will these projects ever end????

Somebody said how rusty the tops are on the Eels, but they're just new! Last week I've seen an Eel on the 75 with the poles down, running on diesel at the Junction.

A member of SEPTA management was told that the route 75 rewiring at Wayne Junction will be done by the end of this week, 06/12/09. The weather looks good most of the week, anyway.

I'm crossing all my fingers and toes.....
