The frequencies in Roxborough for the 9 & 27 are fine as they are.

Keep in mind that years ago, the 27 only went as far as Barren Hill, & after 8pm on weekdays & Saturdays the 27 automatically went to a 45 to 60 minute street. The last bus to 15th & Spruce was at around 11:45ish. Sunday service on both the 9 & 27 stopped just shy of midnight.

I would suggest that the R be extended to Summit during the owl periods or extend the 32 to Henry & Port Royal during the owl periods. Have either one of them run
on a 30 minute street.

Years ago, if I am not mistaken, the 54, at one time, was an owl route.

Alright here's my two cents...... again.

The 2: You have on the west side the 33 and 17 running the length, and the BSO (which I would gladly catch if its a Midvale Tripper) so what's the reasoning? If you're going to have the 2 run, what about the 23 on the other side?

The 26: It really depends on who you talk to, but a single bus on a 30 minute street from Chelten and Pulaski to Olney Terminal, AND Turning there, should be enough. There is really NO options if you live in Germantown.

Manayunk/Roxborough (9, 27 and 61): To say that Manayunk and Roxborough is adequately served by the GHSL and R is a crock of . The problem with Up there is HOW MUCH service should be provided. Then you add in the routings for the two of the lines in question. A hourly run from Summit Loop to WTC with adequate connections should do the trick, but the main problem is that People associate the 9 and 27 with the Schuylkill, and thence advoidable. The 61 DO have a worthwhile useability between WTC and CC with the Reverse Commute Crowd, but realistically, another trip leaving WTC down around 1.45 to connect with the last 125, and several trips starting from CC around 4.30 connecting to the early 124/125's will do.

The 54: Why hasn't that started already?

The 113: Permanent 30 minute street to 11pm to CTC, with the last Tri State run around 2, is acceptable. From 2 to 4.30, an hourly street from 69th to CTC should suffice, but I'd make sure every bus detailed to the 113 is a Brick. 30 minute CTC and 15 minute Darby from 5am to 11pm.

Do you think there really is a need for the 7 to run all night?

Yes, at least from Front & Oregon.

Gray's Ferry and the rest of the "Dirty 30's" has no night owl service period.

The last 7 Northbound serves 22nd & Washington at 1:29 Weekdays, 1:26 on Saturdays and Sundays.
The last 29 Westbound serves 33rd & Dickinson until 2:24, Weekdays and around 2:33 Weekends.
The last 12 Westbound serves that area around 1:06 - 1:12 AM Weekdays, a little later on Saturdays.
The 64? Forget about it. Last bus Weekdays is 12:35, 12:44 at 33rd & Wharton on Saturdays and 10:52 on Sundays.

The argument maybe that the 7 only serves "a bunch or residential areas." But this is a whole neighborhood that gets left out of late night job opportunities because of lax service.

Yes, there is the 17, but are you willing to walk from 20th and Ellsworth to 33rd at 2:30 A.M.?

North Philly gets left out as well.

I see your two cents and raise another two...

There is no all-night service in Rox/Man. 65 barely scratches it - there's another few miles north of Walnut Lane. An all-night 9 would do it. 9 is fairly centrally located in the neighborhood and gets almost to the city line, so it would work. As I noted, having taken the last outbound at night and the first inbound in the AM a few times, these runs are doing the job. The last PM has been 75% seats full in my experience and the first AM has standees by the time it hits Wissahickon train station (and almost everyone on each is leaving/going to Center City). One op told me that he drove the first inbound for years and it's a steady and consistent clientele, and the first run had been earlier in years gone by - the same people are adjusting as it gets later.

A 9 shuttle in the overnights might work if there were a dependable Center City connection but none of the other expressway routes have owl service either, so the 65 or R are the only feeders, and either way it's a 3-seat ride from/to downtown (via 65 and El or R and Subway).

In much the same way the late-night R6's on the weekends are quite popular from what I hear.
