Anything can happen in a week. And with SEPTA getting 120 New Flyers delivered this year. 100-120 NABIs will be retired. It wouldnt surprise me if only 100 were retired even with an order of 120. Since ridership increased as the result to high gas prices this past summer. Retail prices have gone up as gas prices dropped. So ridership may not decrease until retail prices drop. 8046 was probably spotted by someone here before it burnt to a crisp. But now that 8046 burnt its no longer on the Roster. So it may be only 99 NABIs retired total this year. Hopefully 5221 and 5279 are included in those 99 NABIs.

People we have to remember that between september & november new schedules they have added more service. So just cause we are getting a 120 new buses don't look for 120 buses to be retired. I say the worst 80 will get retired first.

You have to be kidding me. I was afraid that this sort of thing was going to happen.

Except for 5008, the remainder were(are) temporary assignments for Southern.

Knowing Midvale, I hope that these buses will continue to run. I am fond of the 5002-5058 group. To me, they were the better NABIs. To me, the worst groups are the 5300s assigned to Frankford & Southern,as well as several rounds of 5200s assigned to Midvale.

With the loss of 5221 and 5279. As well as 8046. SEPTA may only retire 77 NABIs. Since they will not add on to a delivery for buses lost that makes fewer buses retired to keep the fleet number the same.
