Can you tell us more about these account numbers? does 7 means they were hired in the 1970s?

Account numbers are given out consecutively. There is no code to them. The lower the number the longer they have been here. Some of the new hires are in the 14000's or higher for example. 06000 numbers are from 1990 or so IIRC.

Not too long ago (2-3 years) there were still a couple guys around who have been working at Septa since the PTC days. Not sure how many of them are left. Don't know their numbers though.

SePTA account nubers are the employee numbers that you keep your whole carreer. I retired in Nov 2008 with 30 years, my number was 83### they have 5 numbers example 85678... The oldest numbers are about 77000 -85000 in 1978 we were about at 83000-83800 Only very few left at SEPTA with a 77000number in late 1986 Septa stopped at 88765 started over with next new hire at 01000 now 22 years later we at 15076

What's the account number for a SEPTA operator who has been employed since September 1973 or 1974ish?

Does his/her account start with an 80**** or 81****?
