This has little significance, but 5315 was on the 104 , the 2:10 PM from West Chester University. My comment on this is I guess they don't have enough Flyer's to cover the all the bus runs on Sunday. Hopefully, they will receive more hybrids, and the NABI's can soon be retired. Chuck Greene |

I work at Victory as a cleaner for the p&w but a friend of mine who is a blocker there told me that mainly on the weekends nabi's are mostly used along with a few flyers. |

I suppose that the unwritten rule is: run whatever vehicle can be considered as operable. I believe that years ago, when Frontier started offering service on Sundays & holidays(the 99 got it first, the others came later, the 94 & 96 didn't get Sunday service up until late 1994 or early 1995), Frontier dispatched only the 1989 Neo EZ suburbans to cover all Sunday & holiday services. Of course, I think the 124 & 125 got them most of the time on the Frontier shares. You next to never saw a Neo AK suburban or Neo CD suburban operating on any Frontier route on Sundays & holidays. As for Victory, the Neo DKs, EBs, EIs & EZs provided much of the Sunday & holiday services, for by 1993, the Neo BDs, BMs & CDs assigned to Victory ran on Sundays & holidays only if Victory was short on buses. However, I did see 8866 operating on the 97 on a Sunday in the March of 1996, 8853 on the 124 on Sunday, March 29 1998, 8864 on the 109 on Sunday, March 1 1998. |

Hard to figure that, with over 700 LF's, NABI's can still get out on weekend runs, but that's SEPTA. Every so often I see a NABI on 95 on evening or weekend trips and wonder the same thing, especially when most other trips seem to rate milk trucks. |

Nabis are out no matter what in my territory (Midvale). You can't escape them unless you're in Allegheny or Krapf territory. I saw a brick running on the 131 in Norristown; I thought that was a 100% Eldorado route |

Yes, I see them on 9 and 61 on weekends and wonder why. They're getting harder to find on 9, however. |

I saw one on the route 9 yesterday, but indeed they are harder to find these days. Although, its becoming increasingly difficult to find these aforementioned in West Philadelphia on Callowhill routes. |

I'm glad NABIs are making their way out on weekends. I mean, they aren't THAT old...so why keep them locked up for weekday service only? I remember back in the summer of 2005, Midvale ran those Neos at all hours of day and night. Didn't I see one coming off of the 22 (or was it the 55?) at Olney Transpo. Center at 1 AM on a Sunday morning (or Saturday night - however you would like to look at it). Sigh, I miss thos buses... |

You're telling me. I miss seeing the 8600s run on the Midvale routes on the weekends(by 1998, the 8600s that provided ANY weekend service within Midvale territory were relegated to the H/XH, 2(daytime),23 39, 57, 77 & 89). When Callowhill had the 8600s that were displaced from Southern(as well as the 8726-8755 group from Germantown), Callowhill ran them all the time, at any time. Back in 1998, it wasn't unusual to see an 8600 or 8700 running on the G, 15, 31 46, 63/64 during the weekends. If Callowhill was short on equipment, an 8600/8700 may have showed up on the 52 on Saturdays. With Frankford, it was a case as to what was operational. As for Comly, the Neo CDs provided a majority of the service on the non-accessible routes 7 days a week, 365 days a year. As time wore on, the NABIs began to provide Sunday service on the non-accessible routes. |
