SEPTA Operator Eric Bohlert of Midvale District informed me a couple of weeks ago that SEPTA Volvo #7011 (of SEPTA's Historical Fleet) has been scrapped. It was scrapped with the last of the Neolplan AN440s that were formerly assigned to Frankford District. R.I.P. #7011. |

Whoever made that decision can take the Broad Street Subway cars & shove them, along with all the Eldorados, Champions & the 5300s assigned to Southern down their throats. I am wondering as to how much 7011 will cost at an auction & what the procedure is for restoration. Maybe we can raise some money for purchase & restoration. Any thoughts? |

Kyle, I apologize. It seems that SEPTA has gotten so plain. |

SEPTA had variety when we were children. RTSs, Neo AKs, Neo BDs, PCCs, Almond Joys, Pioneer IIIs for the Paoli local, Luzerne & their "mystery mix", Blueliners for the Reading side of RRD, 8800s assigned to Frontier, AMG units, Volvos & among others, ticket vending machines @ RRD stops. |
