For some reason, I can't imagine SEPTA getting 60 foot New Flyer artics.

Do any of you think SEPTA will slowly begin to phase out the artics, increase scheduled headways on the busier routes & become an operation where all of their buses are 40 feet(41 feetfor the 2008, 2009 hybrids)?
No need to phase out the artics since as they are currently being overhauled. This overhaul should last for about 5-plus more years. Making 2013-2014 their prejected retirement date.

Besides, the "Neoplan retirement dates" thread refers to the older 1980s Neoplans, not the 1999 Neoplan Artics.

I rode my last Neoplan on 06-13-08, it was a sick bus, trouble getting up hills.

It had city seats, except for one set. The Neo's got pretty bad near their end.

Everyone can calm down, we all know unless something drastic happens, Septa is getting New Flyer's to replace the Neoplans. Case closed.
Yep, just like how SEPTA bought a 400 bus order of Neoplan AN440s in 1996.

I think with the tight budget and increased ridership, it would be tough for SEPTA to increase headways to phase out articulated buses.

dude, he played you, took you in to an adoption center and OWNED you!

Basically, since SEPTA was obsessed with Neoplan back then, you'd assume that they got Neoplan AN440's in 1995, but they didn't! Instead, they got American Ikarus 416's (a lot of people are disappointed in that, lol)

OH @#$%! I get it now. :o But that makes no sense. Neoplan filed for bankruptcy in 2006, so how could Septa have gotten buses from them? Since companies were probably bidding at that time, wouldn't Neoplan not have been able to due to the problems they were facing at the time?

septa's last order and delivery for neoplan an440's took place between 1986 and 1990 with the 3000 - 3491 group of busses

Does anyone have any assignments for the AN440s from 2000-2008?
