Comly's and Callowhill Hybrids are the same age, they were arriving at the same times.
Whats funny is that you actually replied to that! what makes you guys think there would be something special about the Allegheny's hybrids? Was it soo special enough to wait 6 hours on a corner for one?

I wasn't waiting. I was being interview'd at a job.
And it just happened that I was at a window.
And I saw no hybrids.
Not one.
Out of Allegheny.
In service.
On the 9.
Or 27.
I did NOT expect or wait a million years for a hybrid on the 27 today. I saw it at a distance as I was about to go into the subway and I thought I should run for it so that I can keep my record as the first rider/photographer of a 2009 hybrid in service at a certain district.
Happy????

I've been to job/school interviews before, don't remember for the interview to take 6 hours though.. What kind of job is it? The president of some company along that corner? Well good luck and hope you got the job for all the trouble!

Well good luck with that and I guess those hybrids are dead slow as well. Were Allegheny running 59xx around as well?

The interview was first a one-on-one then it was a public introduction to the company by the president. (it is a sales marketing job) Then he gave a demo of what the applicants (there were about 15 applicants including myself) were supposed to do. Then arrangements were made for training, and so on, etc. That took around 5 hours 47 minutes (I timed it with a stopwatch). Then we took a break then eventually we dismissed and I rode the 35 full length and then went home.

Yes and yes.
The hybrids top speed was 45mph even in the highway.
8293 and 8299 were on the 27, 8291 on the 65.

And there were a handful of 5900s too. 5913, 5914 and 5923 on the 27, 5916 on the 9 and 5803 (rode) and 5924 on the 65.

Lol SII...

So, yeah, I saw 8299 as well as 8292 (with completely blank destination and run block signs) on the 27 today too.

So much for the depot "where I like anything that runs out of it". Not that I can really USE the 27 anymore since the connections to the suburban routes don't work anymore :(.

So, yeah, there's my big citybus observation of the month! Back to suburban transit through the car windshield. ;)

For those of you looking for Allegheny hybrids, they are indeed here. Just this AM, 8291 outbound on 27, 8287 outbound on deadhead (Henry Ave) - the sign and block indications were working, but SEPTA was the sign and 0000 was the block - and 8292 inbound on 9.

A number of hybrids have been working 61 and 62 (surprise!) lately. Saw 8271 on 61 last night with a two-line front sign 'Umbria Ave Domino Lane'. Looked nice except the SEPTA sign folks need to take another look at the displays (Umbria is 'St', not 'Ave'), as we have discussed for both exterior signs and interior announcements.

Well the Hybrids at Allegheny are even slower then the ones at Midvale. Ridden on one on the 27, and the acceleration was horrible, it's amazing 1234 had the guts to approve the usage of such low settings.

The hybrids are govern at 60-62mph btw. But getting up there is a completely different story.

I Love the '08s. The 09s are more boring than bricks. And I hate bricks. The only 09s I even distantly like are 8225, 8228, 8231 and 8233. 8250 was kinda weird. I don't know if the driver was doing it but it FLIES downhill but it crawls on level ground. I rode it on the L

There's been a load of late-8200's pouring in recently, and most of them were on the C. However, today was only 8270 and 8279. Yesterday I saw none other than 8294 just passing through City Hall. They're damn-near into the 8300's and it's only been at least 4 months since 8200 rolled onto the scene. Deliveries are fast for these not-so-fast hybrids. =]
