Indeed, the owners of Pier 70 have made it clear that they will never allow SEPTA to string overhead on their property. Restoring trackless to Route 29 is not worth it, since the ridership on that line increased greatly with the Pier 70 extension. As for the 79....well, with it being impractical to restore 29, I don't see 79 coming back either, as there is no economic sense in maintaining the infrastructure for a single route. |

As per the Advertisements over the past 8 years about the hybrids, they save 40% in fuel, decreased service costs, 80% less emissions, and all that other good stuff. Well Northeast Philadelphia has some issues getting the trackless trolley network fully up and running and one route is now running diesel buses for the time to being. Why do you want to bring those potential problems down to South Philadelphia? I love the trackless, but I'm afford the time for them has past for South Philadelphia. Yes there will be issues with the owners of Pier70 down the road for allowing SEPTA to install poles over their property. |

here is a update to my post from yesterday we do have a set of wires in the house keeping rows 1 and 2 but the wires are only on row 1 so it u add the original storage rows over in bay 2 which has three rows but two has wires one is a passing lane we can store up to at least 60 trackless buses if using all three rows but for the buses to be only on the 79 we can fit the equipment on one row which can hold about 20 buses pending on how they are parked together and they must repair the wire in the back lot and on the 19th street side in the lot and on the street in order to get them running properly |

SEPTA's answer for not fixing the wires at Southern is to EPU. They do that at Frankford. The problem is the durability of the diesel motors, it's not good and they are wearing out. |
