The only future non-New Flyer bus purchase will be the 30 foot El Derado replacements. New Flyer does not make center door 30 foot buses. The smallest center door vehicle they make is a 35 foot bus.
I think somebody on here said the Eldorado's will be replaced by 40ft buses.

My personal feeling is it will be New Flyer as the new artic choice. I also suspect they might increase the order count to possibly around 200.
Of course, and I'm thinking that New Flyer will manufactured a modified New Flyer DE60LF for SEPTA since SEPTA wanted A/C on the rooftop. I'm guessing that all A/C will be on the roof with the trailer unit equipped with a smaller size A/C to accommodate with the battery pack there also. And/Or, New Flyer can extend the length of the bus to fit this modification.
It's already been done in King County, Washington (Seattle area).

That can explain why Seattles latest DE60LFs have the high profile roof caps instead of low profile. So I wonder if that will be the case with SEPTAs. And if the front roofcap is a battery pack where is the front AC unit?

front roofcap is the HVAC, the rear roofcap is the battery pack.

Actually they are both out there. The battery seems to be split betwixt the two halves, with an HVAC unit on each section.

Hopefully SEPTA can come to there senses and get rid of the person that is choosing the specs for the buses.

Hopefully SEPTA can get the XEDE60LF. IF ITS ON THE MARKET.

Enough said here

Imagine this in SEPTA colors:

I was told by someone at SEPTA, that they won't be purchasing anymore buses under 40ft., except for their CCT operation, because of ridership increases.

I do have a large suspicion that the Eldorados are being replaced with 40fts. And SEPTA is not alone with that decision. Baltimore MTA plans to replace the 3 Optimabus Opus's with 40fts when they are scheduled to be retired. And they even didnt plan to replace the Articulated buses when they were retired. So basically MTA was going to be an all 40ft TA but luckily they did get new Articulated buses. And it almost began to seem like they were no longer getting new buses ever again. But they just got 30 New Flyer DE60LFRs and is in the process of getting 100 DE40LFRs. And after this order new buses are not due again until 2012. Which is another reason Im considering moving to Philly and working for SEPTA instead of working for Baltimore MTA. Even though SEPTA isnt as up to date with many features as Baltimore MTA is at least SEPTA is a more dependable TA and easier to be hired with then the Bmore MTA.

From looking at this pic. This is a New Flyer DE60LF with a rear HVAC. The interesting thing is. That this DE60LF has a ventless rear HVAC door. So my guess is SEPTA will get the rear HVACs on their New Flyer DE60LFs with the same ventless cover as this coach in the pic has.
Is the vent going to be in the roof at the rear of the bus?
