PAT isnt the only TA suffering the statewide budget crisis. Rabbit Transit is as well. They couldnt get the funding to remodel the Rabbit Transit base and they were suppose to get new buses this year but due to budget issues neither is getting done. And CAT of Harrisburg. They just got some used NABIs from SEPTA this year. And I sometimes wonder if any of SEPTAs Eldorados will operate by other TAs in PA after they are retired. I wouldnt even be surprised if any of them were owned by RRTA, COLT, or even CAT. RRTA I dont know how they would number ex SEPTA Eldorados but if CAT got any of them they would more likely be numbered starting at 2122 since CAT numbers by the year reguardless of whether or not the buses were purchased new or used. And BARTA. I wouldnt be surprised if any 2001 SEPTA New Flyers were sold to them. And same with LANTA. And maybe even CAT with ex SEPTA New Flyers. |

All eyes on Onorato. As you can understand, this is exactly why Rendell is campaigning throughout the state to urge people to talk to their legislators. We need to fix this problem...NOW! Hopefully this threat will get people's attention... |

Remember from 2005-2007 when there was no funding for public transportation in PA? There were threats of cuts with TAs throughout the state of PA and in 2007 the bill passed and things went really good. I hope who ever is PAs next governor will do the same thing as Rendell is doing to save public transportation. And with this issue thats why Ive considered working for either Greyhound, Bolt bus, Coach USA or Megabus. Local transits and state governments are dealing with major budget issues. |

During 2004, that's when the State has posted a warning that funds for transit has evaporated and they needed to think of it the way how to find other ways to generate money while transits SEPTA is preparing a monstrous action on its service plan if the State doesn't get its hand in action before the deadline. This applies again in the year 2007 when the transit experienced another budget shortage which almost threatened another mosterous action if the State didn't get its act again. And again after the fianancial crisis from 2008-2010 with the start of recovery, transit again faced another coflict here..... |

So only 9 of the 03 Gilligs are being retrofitted with Cummins ISL? At least it isnt like SEPTA. SEPTA is repowering all 03-04 New Flyer D40LFs with ISL. So now 9 of PATs 03 Gilligs should sound like DARTs Diesel Gillig Advantages. Or maybe like CATs 2500s. |

ARGH! I didn't realize that the Metroliners and 3000 series Neoplans (DD50s, NOT the 3100s of course) only ran during RUSH HOURS! I also missed out on a trip on the Allentown Line...overslept. Oh well, perhaps next time. I love love love the 5600s...much better than the 5500s. I think Voith does well for PAT, with all of the hills and such. Also, why no artics on the 61s? Is that where they will be putting the New Flyers? My word...the 61A was ridiculously crowded! Also, the 61B (and I guess the 61A as well) have endpoints that are night and day! From the desolate don't you dare find yourself there after dark Braddock Borough to the hustle and bustle of Spring Hill, Oakland, and, of course, downtown Pittsburgh! Whats with the fareboxes? I see that many buses out here are not equipped with the new ones. |
