Also, I've noticed on the weekends, Gilligs take over. Did not see many Neoplan An440lf's, Nova Classics, or Phantoms on the streets on the weekend. I will try to do a video dedicated to Nova's soon, since they are in the process of being retired. I can find some Nova's around Pitt's campus, for example I was surprised one day when I saw one on the EBO (East Busway via Oakland route), that was the route that had all Neoplans when I filmed it on Sunday, but wonder where in the city they dominate?

You should see Harrisburg since the 2600 Series Advantages arrive. All you see on Saturdays in Harrisburg since then is Gillig Advantages. Except the D route which still runs as Eldorados on Saturdays while everyone else has a Gillig Low Floor.

The Classics may not have an area that they dominate. In regards to Phantoms, doesn't the 41F run them full time?

According to Pat's list of routes, there is no 41F. Today I got a recording of a Neoplan An440lf on the 61F. I love that my Panther Card allows me to ride a bus just a few blocks down Fifth Ave on campus with little hassle. :D

Also Pat has updated its transit proposal. Post from city-data.com:

By the way, they have now updated with individual route maps, a proposal for a new Downtown circulation system, and the thing I was most looking forward to, a description of their proposed Rapid Bus service for the former 28X, 61s, and 71s.

Tonight I got a nice video of my ride on 3120 (DD Series 60 Neo An460) on the EBA, video will be up soon. Also got 2 lightrail videos underground. The Busways are really cool. On the East one, they have Neoplans, Gillig Phantoms and Advantages, the little Champion buses, Classics, Metroliners, its awesome! Even Westmoreland Transit runs its little Champions and MCI's along it.

I also rode one of the 4 Gillig Advantage hybrids. I had a recording, but accidentally deleted it off my sd card (will see if I can recover it). They sound nowhere like any of Septa's New Flyer hybrids (old or new), much more gruff sounding. They do make that whirly noise when slowing down, but I only heard it when I was outside of one on 5th Ave.

Edit: Neoplan Artic ride video is now uploaded.

I heard the AN440LF's out there are POS'es. I would love to go back out there to Pittsburgh.

They sound just like Septa's An460's on the outside, yet on the inside its different (see video). I like them, but they and the Classics at night have some dim lighting inside. Also, the Classics have part of the DD50 engine taking up space of the back row of seats, like the demo Neoplan in Philly did.

My night video from downtown Pittsburgh and Busway video #2 are uploaded. I'm starting to like the whine of the ISM in the Gilligs, but am missing the loud ISL in the overhauled 01-03 sharks.

Oops. I meant the 41E - Mt. Washington Line. Unless that changed, I though it exclusively used the Phantom 35 footers.

The map is somewhat confusing though...
